VERY true, Shisno. Even their email said 8:00pm North America. NORTH AMERICA, LMAO! Like we only have 1 time zone in USA and Canada. LOL USA alone being about 3500 miles wide.
Over in Europe, they can drive through several countries in a couple hours.
This isn't the first time thing they have totally ****** up. If they can't get time zones and days right, how will they ever be able to finish programing a game like Dust without tons of bugs?????
I'm just sayin'...

Grit Breather wrote:You silly US people have too many time zones with silly acronyms
Hey, man, WE US people can figure it out. Seems like CCP, and maybe you Euros, can't even get it straight when 00:00 on Friday server time is, because that has now past.
(Grit, the way to keep people from being rude to you is to not be rude to them.)

Maximus Stryker wrote:Point of contention that a friend brought up, at 00:00 GMT on Friday August 31st, wouldn't that be 8:00pm on Thursday August 30th if you live in USA Eastern Standard Time (New York City | Atalanta).
Your friend is 100% correct.
Maximus Stryker wrote:Regardless, I am operating under the assumption that corp battles will take place for me as follows: (East Coast USA time | EST | New York City | GMT -4)
Friday Aug 31st @ 8pm Saturday Sept 1st @ 8pm Sunday Sept 2nd @ 8pm
If that's true, then CCP totally ****** up their announcement and cannot tell what their own server time is.

For the continental USA there are only 4 time zones.
Eastern (CCP server time -4 hours in the summer or -5 hours in the winter.) Central (CCP server time -5 hours in the summer or -6 hours in the winter.) Mountain (CCP server time -6 hours in the summer or -7 hours in the winter.) Pacific (CCP server time -7 hours in the summer or -8 hours in the winter.)
In the summer, when Daylight Savings Time is used, the USA time zones are called, for instance,
Eastern = EDT (Eastern Daylight Time)
and in the winter they are called, for instance,
Eastern = EST (Eastern Standard Time)
If you are an American and you don't know all the continental USA time zones, then I also hope you haven't finished fourth grade yet.
CCP does not change their server time for Daylight Savings. So, in the summer EVE server downtime is at 7:00am EDT, and in the Winter the server downtime is at 6:00am EST. I guess there is no Daylight Savings time in space, or else there are no time zones. `Aye?
And WTF do they do in binary star systems, which are more prevalent in the real universe than systems with one star (our Sun), like ours.???

That means in the USA, the East Coast downtime is presently 7:00am, or as I said, 11:00 CCP Server Time (GMT) minus 4 hours.
This isn't rocket science.

But us mainlanders only count them when we need their assets or want to go on vacations.
And many of us would like to not count Arizona at all.
