As the title says. Can we get the Militia Dropship changed back to a BPO, but remove the turrets entirely? Either take those spots away so that players can't use them, or change them into extra passenger slots.
This would give new people the chance to learn how to fly the damn things without accidentally flipping over and blowing 150,000 ISK due to newbishness, and veteran players can still use them as 'basic' transports to haul people around the map and provide a mobile spawn point. Which, it being a dropship, should be its intended purpose anyway. And, more importantly, there wouldn't be a constant spam of dropships flying around armed with rocket launchers sniping peeps from the air, which is the main reason they were changed away from BPO's a month ago.

Addendum: Can we get the basic Gallente Militia LAV converted back to a BPO too, please? I like that the Caldarin one still is (or was, last time I checked) as it is a shield tanked version, but it'd be good to balance it out by allowing the basic armor tanked version to be infinite too. Not as important as the dropship, though. ;) |

Yeah, no free vehicles. Free anything kind of sucks. Especially a vehicle that can fly, as people will just use them to fly to the tops of roofs and towers to throw down a drop uplink. That's not good gameplay, in my opinion. If people want to do something really useful like getting up to a roof like that, they should need to be putting an actual paid-for vehicle on the line. |

Agreed. Everyone and his cousin having free access to dropships is a bad idea. I'm glad they got rid of them with the new build. |

Nope. Vehicles should be expensive enough to where they can't be thrown away and they should therefore be piloted by specialized pilots.
It's all about risk and reward.
Vehicle spam is bad. I think they need to get rid of free LAVs too before release.
The Golden Rule of EVE and DUST is: don't fly/drive/wear something you can't afford to lose. |

Really, spending a few hours learning to fly is fun. And 150k isn't that much. Since people started using better stuff I'm getting about 150k a good game. A ship a game isn't enough?
The only free vehicle should be a crappy LAV like we have now. I feel militia vehicle prices are about right.

Everything in this universe is supposed to cost something. The only concession is a basic drop suit and weapon to let you fight at the lowest level even if you are flt broke. Give something away for nothing and that's exactly how people will value it. We will have dozens of the littering the battlefield and that is neither realistic nor in keeping with the universe of EVE. |
