Rather than muddle with the game details and general things most other DUST blogs seem to enjoy, GNN will focus all of its attention of the dynamic relationship shared between clans and corporations via warfare and Alliances.
If a corporation beats another corporation, you can expect GNN to report it. If there are major operations and major clan engagements...you can expect GNN to give all the gritty, dramatic details.

GNN. Your Source for News. You mean like TheMittiani.com already does? |

TotalBreakage wrote:Grezkev, just promise the community you will have a honest, un-biased news source. We need a real Dust news source other than the horrible Dustmercs site. Check out the one i linked above, it's Dust and EVE, will give you a much better overview of the bigger picture rather than any Dust only or Eve only sites. |

Grezkev wrote:[quote=Cerebral Wolf Jr] The Mittani can continue to do whatever it wants, and hell we might even get part of our news from the site. But the point of The Mittani is not to incorporate the ideas of its viewers into the news. You called me Fox News in the other thread, probably just because you see this as competition with your website. Fox News is the corporation that doesn't listen to its constituents.....unlike what GNN is planning on doing.
If you look at the site you'll see mittens writes hardly any of the articles, they infact submitted by the whole New Eden community, including Dust Mercs and Eve players in addition to you're standard grunt there are Large scale Fleet commanders contributing from all sides of all wars, CEO's of alliances, Scammers and even some simple Hisec industrialists, there are even multiple reports on the same fights from different view points.
It's actually the least bias site around and has taken the vast majority of traffic away from some of the more bias sites out that which is exactly is what the aim of the site was. A "One stop shop" if you like, for all news in New Eden from all sides of the story. |

People who read the news generally don't like the forum layout. Therefore it's best to have the news posted in a prominent location that catches the eye. Take a look at Eve News 24 or The Mittani News as prime examples.
Also, if you want to stand out from the rest (who also report on corp/alliance affairs), it's best to establish connections with the corps and alliances so that you can have the latest scoop on something other news sites don't already know about. One way of doing this is talking to the directors of the corp/alliance in low-sec or null-sec or even the famous ones in high-sec into letting you join their roaming fleets. Some will have strict guidelines on how to record (FRAPS) videos without giving away too much intel on the fleet you're in so make sure you consult with them on that. One player in Eve Online has done this before and mentioned that it was a rewarding experience so long as you get use to some players who don't trust you in their fleet because they think you're a spy.
Getting connections is very hard, but in the end it will benefit your news site and help establish your presence better with the players you roam with.
EDIT:
I just realized that I was writing in the context of Eve Corps because there are no roaming fleets in Dust 514. So, unless you have cloaking mods in Dust and have a video recording software in your Ps3, well...
Did you see the PC gamer article where we let the guy into our fleets for the recent conflict with -A- and he did some live steaming? |
