I've not racked up a huge amount of time in Dust but have gotten a few hours in on the latest patch so these are all first impressions pretty much.
1. Scoreboard needs to be more fluid. Right now it's like a sub-menu that pops up taking over your screen. Ideally something like BF3 that can be quickly brought up as a transparent HUD showing who is alive, scores, player counts etc. Current scoreboard takes too long to load.
2. Show who is talking on the scoreboard and let me interact with them (mute, friend etc).
3. Show speech icons on mini-map. Someone says: "I need help over here" there's no way for me to know who is talking or where here is right now.
4. Running-jumps are both slow and clunky. The characters appear to slow down before jumping which is completely the opposite of what you expect (you sprint into a jump IRL). I don't want bunny hopping but I do want to be able to leap out of the way of something or into a doorway and cover. The jumps don't feel right either, don't ask me for specifics, they just feel wrong.
5. Do away with range limitations on rifles. A sniper is 300m away and hitting my team mates beside me, I want to suppress him with my space-age assault rifle but I can't. A World War 2 rifle has a further effective range. It's just a bit silly really isn't it?
6. When viewing items on the market there's too many options. (View info, market prices, requirements etc etc). 7. Dropsuits can't go prone?
8. Swarm launchers are bad. Everything about them, the unpredictable spread, the lack of infantry stopping power or direct fire ability. They just go all over the place. When locking on if a tank reverses behind cover I'm still unsure whether there's a way for me to release the trigger without firing?
9. Usability. Dust needs it. It feels like it takes 15 button presses and 3 menu navigations just to take a ****. Starting the game you press start how many times? Streamline it so we can get into the game menu and into the action faster.
10. Vehicle control is all kinds of bad. One of the least user-friendly control layouts for a vehicle I've seen in quite some time. Just replace all the stick waggling with a forwards button, a reverse button and use the stick to steer like every game. If it ain't broke don't fix it.
