Push to talk is useless as it is currently be real folks its useless.....if u dont wanna hear someone on the mic mute em tbh
here is my proposal to make PTT actually useful , got the idea from someone on one of the threads why not make PTT open up leadership comms? that way a squad leader/commander can talk to SLs/Commanders via comms
Team chat is NOT good enough. Dunno if anyone has actually played shooters competitively but u cannot have all those ppl on team chat talkin at the same time. Callouts are constantly made by team mates and to have 24 ppl on team chat means comms will come cluttered so its better to have Comms on squad and a way for Leaders to Coordinate easily with other Leaders without having to bring up cumbersome ingame menus to change channels, this is where PTT can actually be useful
Altho i would prefer how MAG did their comms in DUST tbh, as it stands MAG had the best comms of any console game ive played with their system and how easy to use it was |

For the benefit of those of use who haven't experienced MAG, could you provide an overview of how the comms work there?
I'm thinking that if squads could hear other squad commanders they would have a greater insight into the goings-ons of the battle. That, or if only the squad leader would have a shared comms channel with other squad leaders.

Agreed. At one point it would be a big giant mess. |

Yes, please explain MAG coms. While I like your idea I love the PTT, I live in a loud household and constantly muting and unmuting my Mic is tiresome. |

My 0.02 isk
Have 2 channels that squad leaders voice active in. 1 your squad 2 a squad leader channel Have it so squad leaders can hear both channels at all times, but require them to press left on d-pad to speak in the "command" channel.
Now I throw this out there, because the other day I was in a match where all of my team was on comms. Now each squad normally would run smoothly, but with everyone on comms it was next to impossible for squad members to understand what orders their squad leaders were giving. |
