I really do feel that larger squad deployment would be better being a player in mag we could have groups of 16 players all of us with mics and do a clan deploy of 32 the gaming became a small community having friends I consider to be part of my social life :) just a thought from machzman2 aka N-E-R-O. |

Boy, it's a good thing you gave both of your names, so I know how important this idea is
And squad size is where it is for beta purposes. Give it time. We'll likely see a grouping system similar to EVE's where you level a skill to increase the size of your squad, level another skill to increase the number of squads in your platoon, and still another to increase the number of platoons in your company.
In EVE a player with V in all of those skills can have five wings, each with five squadrons, each squadron with 10 ships.

I think all of us that group up want larger squads. Don't know how many times I've had a corp mate get on but all ready had a squad of 4. |

EvE also had passive bonus for squads, default used squad leaders skills, squad leader could assign a booster role to sombody else in squad if they had higher bonus, could also give boss role to somebody else. Useful if they have sp in leadership but don't want to actualy lead, they can delegate to a good leader that has sp in something else. Command suits will probably give some squad/unit wide buffs. Should be nice when we get them, so many goodies we know are coming but can't have yet. |

I don't feel like we have had a chance to learn what we can really do in a four man squad.
The comms issues have mostly prevented that.
But think about how we will need to work together with more combined arms
3 in the tank and one behind in the logistics lav
1 hmg & 1 logi with a webber set up the ambush while 2 fast scouts attract a few assaults into the trap
How fast can you get a fourl man team from one side of a skirmish map to the otherand ready to sew havoc in a coordinated and controlled manner?
How long can 2 heavies and two logis with reppers hold an objective?
I get the need for more talking and active teams, but we haven't really been able to test the smaller teams the way I would really want to |

And I still like the idea of a Target Painter (equip) that boosts hit box size and allows swarms to lock would be cool

Here's something to think about...
At the moment the game is locking up or Invalid Fitting everyone to death. When you're paired up with 3 other people in a squad, the same thing is happening to them and so it's hard as hell to organize and get a full squad on the field.
But you're asking for the squads to be upped to say... 6? 8? And then have to deal with the other 7 having the same issues you do solo. So even if you have 8 per squad, how often are you really going to field that whole squad?
Do you really want to wait for each individual person to reboot/reinvite etc. per match?
I agree the squads should be bigger, but only when the game is more stabilized. |
