With all the madness going on with everything else (the bugs), I was curious if there may be claymore's, and anti-vehicle mine's, while having a maximum dropped at one time? |

Are there not enough AV methods? If anything, there should be anti-infantry mines. AV grenades, swarms, dropships, other installations, other tanks, swarm launchers, AND forge guns? Seems a legit list of anti-tank weapons. Keep it at that.
Oh. and dont forget C4 is available |

A claymore is an anti person mine. I agree that anti tank mines would be a welcome addition. Something that limits the mobility of tanks should be in the game, especially for larger maps. They don't need to be invisible to tank drivers, it should just be something that creates a barrier for them that they can't overcome on their own. And of course if you don't pay attention, you go boom, like with everything else in this game. |

The anti-tank was an idea, Im not sure if would be a great idea. Seeing as there are, what you listed available for anti-tank. C4 is great, I was thinking of a passive mechanism or device. It may not even have to do dmg. Ecm pulse? Disrupting the weapons? |

ECM would be a pretty epic idea. Perhaps something to disable the tank's engine? An engineer would only need put his repair tool on the tank to restore the engines function.
Perhaps the ECM should affect shield tanks in particular. Although a counter device to target armoured tanks would then be needed, such as armour piercing mines or whatever |

Weapons that you just place on the ground and an enemy walks into sometime and dies have never been very fun to me. Very low skill and pretty uninvolved in terms of gameplay. I'd rather all the AV (and other) methods require actually aiming or timing in some sense. Blowing up a LAV because it happened to hit your mines when you were across the map isn't good gameplay in my opinion. |

If you're talking about a death match situation I agree, but in an objective based game mode mines would be very useful for defence purposes. It helps defend multiple entries to an objective and makes tank drivers think twice about where they go. And nobody says that mines have to be undetectable, just pay attention and you will most likely not run into one. Laying down some mines is a simple way to draw a line that no oh-so-powerful tank can cross, and I think this would benefit the gameplay of Dust. |

I don't doubt that it'd be useful, I just doubt it'd be really very fun for anyone. I think if people want to defend an area from vehicles, they should park themselves at that location with a forge gun or swarm launcher or whatever. If you want to draw a line that people can't cross in a tank, that'd how you do it. Or with another tank, or whatever. Clicking the ground a few times and then running off to fight should not be a suitable defense against anything in this game. |

Clicking the ground a few times and then running off to fight should not be a suitable defense against anything in this game. The problem with parking yourself with a forge gun in the middle of the road is that you will be promptly shredded to pieces by any tank rolling into sight. That's why mines are more useful, because the tank driver will need to get some infantry to defuse them before he can advance further, and infantry is more vulnerable than a tank. Mines are a tactical asset, and I find it very much fun to make use of tactical assets.Dust is obviously geared towards a more tactical and even strategical way of playing than most shooters, so I think anti tank mines definitely have a place in Dust.
And yes, it sucks to be blown up by mines that you didn't see. It also sucks to be blown away by a shotgun scout that you didn't see, or a railgun sniper tank that you didn't see. That's how the games goes.

if AV mines were powerful and imune to damage, but were vary obvious to see and had markers on them at certain ranges and also hackable (or defuseable or whatever u want) then that would be a massive change to the AV role |

Would also put an end to all the complaining about tanks being overpowered. And tank drivers couldn't complain either, as long as people are not able to plaster the whole map with those AV mines.
I have to bring up another Battlefield comparison here: BF 2142 had excellent infantry vs. vehicle balance. The AV mines were imune to damage, but could be defused manually. There was also a special grenade that destroys all mines within a certain radius of its impact, but you could only equip one at a time. |

I agree with the mines, maybe they could add a skill and mod that could detect the mines so that the tankers can't whine if they get blown up. As soon as I saw this post I thought of a bouncing betty type infantry mine, and give logis skill in finding and hacking them. |
