I imagine the somewhat high average age will lead to corps being run far more maturely than clans or guilds in most other games. |

More so than just corp leadership, I think an older and more mature player base will have a drastic impact on in game politics. You can already see this in EVE where College level econamics and business ideology is being applied to everyday interactions. |

Im quite surprised to see that the average age is 30, but also glad to see more people still playing Video Games the older they get. I also think it is going to affect the game a lot more then we think, with older, more mature people playing, and possibly leading clans, a lot more strategy is going to be involved in this game. You can see it already in EvE, the best example being the Guiding Hand Social Club assassinating 'Mirial' the CEO of the Ubiqua Seraph Corporation.
First, they got jobs with the target corporation and worked their way up the ranks. The primary assassin became second in command of the entire firm because the background checks for imaginary space pilots aren't very good.
Then, after a year of real-time play, They killed Mirial, emptied the corp's accounts and hangars, stole everything that wasn't bolted down and blew up everything that was, then killed Mirial again. The guy who contracted them payed them 500 REAL dollars, which is nothing compared to the 16,500 REAL dollars worth of items they either stole or blew up during the raid (courtesy of cracked.com)
This is what older, more mature gamers can do in a game, and will be interesting to see if anyone pulls something off like this again (p.s. im 16, and consider myself decently mature) |

LoL someone paid real money to assassinate a character in a computer game? $500? Wtf? Am I the only person who has a grip on reality here? It's a computer game FFS... That's neither mature or immature. It's obsessive. |

Good post Calif. Lol. I feel rather grandfatherly after reading the other posts . As I'm the tender age of 45 and so I'm totally pants at shooting people before they shoot me....... most of the time, so yeah, I'm Logistics and no spots []lol:] |

Actually I just turned 19 and I enjoy it even now. I am really happy that the older adults play, because I really love the insight they give on life. Alot of my gaming buddies in real life love gaming it up with older guys. Because you feel real comftorable because their not dull headed, and don't talk out of their ***. They have a sense of respect and great maturity which I truly appreciate. They incorporate their lives into the game which is preety awesome if you ask me
Their real thing we should worry about is how young. Because to me under 16 is terrible. They have no patience, barely any maturity, and can't handle certain aspects.
Just my 10 cents |

I'm 32 and I've been playing games since I was about 3 or 4.
Anyway, this is nothing surprising--EVE players tend to be around 30 also. I've met very few teenagers there. The age in DUST probably tends to skew a bit younger, but not by much. |
