i'm getting really god damn tired of not being able to kill most scouts that are capable of moving.
and no, i don't need to hear about the time you easily dispatched a hundred scouts with your militia scrambler pistol and won the game while your team watched in awe. |

It wasn't my militia scrambler pistol, it was my Nova Knife.... while in a militia heavy suit. |

Actually, it ain't hard to rack up 30kills against assault and heavies, and dumb scouts who don't use speed to their advantage. I wouldn't say hit detection is "broken" but definitely not good.... particularly on scouts. |

Hit detection bug is not affected by movement, but shows up more in scouts it seems. I had incident of being in scout suit with shotgun firing at another shotgun scout, after we each seemed to hit each other several times we stopped strafing and emptied shotguns at point blank. Nothing, then suddenly the damage showed up and we died at same time instantly, like the game just noticed we had enough hits to kill a couple heavies already.
The strafing faster then turn rate is by design, but there is a hit detection glitch, seen it few times with other suits but mainly with scouts. They need to fix this rather then nerf the scout, the nerf wouldn't help anyway if detection is not fixed and fixing glitch will nerf those exploiting it. The amount of lead is hard to judge also, seems to need a lot more then other games. This combined with hit detection, and the intended speed tank make the hit detection problem seem worse, but it still needs fixed. There is also a detect hit but not apply damage bug, shield flash but bar won't move. This seems to go away if shooter moves then fires again, also seems to be worse on scouts but could be its just more obvious when hitting stationary sniper then other builds that move around. |

I've gone 32/0 and I will tell you that hit detection is incredibly flawed. I'm not sure how anyone can play this game and not realize hit detection is all kinds of messed up. |

Yeah, amazing no-one can land 5 bullets on him and make it 32/1. Hit detection and hit boxes ect are mostly ok now. It's latency which is causing it. You have to lead zitro by more than other scouts I've played. only seen omni in a tank ontop of a tower :D The top MAG QQ of all time "connection > skill" I don't know enough on a technical side to add more than that really. Problems of running a single universe I guess.
Latency is something CCP will have to work on. It's horrible playing when some people just can't be hit. I see it from my side too, people firing at where I used to be. I use assault... So there we go. |

And yea, hit detection is all kinds of borked, and not just on scouts. I actually kill scouts the easiest, everything else seems tougher to kill. |

no, that does not factor into latency at all
plenty of competing FPS titles can handle latency just fine, since they have optimized the backend to handle bullet and hit detection very fast. Hitscan is the best method but prone to hackers. luckily hacking the ps3 and playing online with it is so incredibly difficult you might as well not bother
if most weapons switched to hitscan, the hit ddetections problems wound vanish overnight

lol u think its hard? hit detection is broken , its mostly notable on scout suits
when trying to hit a scout that strafing take a good look at where ur hits register when they strafing.....u have to aim a distance off his body to actually score hits....problem this poses is when they strafe back and forth really fast it becomes just a spray fest
half the things u see scouts doin now wont be happening with proper hit detection and i bet some ppl will QQ how it got nerfed when it really didnt
thats part of the reason i refuse to use scout suits tbh |

Hit detection was supposed to be fixed 3 builds ago and every build after. The move to SiSi was supposed to make it better no luck there. If it hasn't been fixed yet it wont get fixed because they are to busy adding in other features at the moment.
Don't hold your breath on a hit detection fix. |
