What on earth is with the ADS on this game. ??? Has it been done like this for, shall we say '' the less able '' has it been done to accomodate KBM PC players. ? It is without doubt the worst I've encountered in any FPS, I know this isn't a proper FPS but still. ? Also as HD is very random it doubles the problem. Please sort out this basic mechanic of a game. |

I know what you mean, I think i'd rather look through a low powered scope in the same way as you do in BF3 or other games. |

I just don't get it, yes I know when you get hit with an explosion it will throw you off, but it goes all over the place like my scope has a mind of it's own. ? |

What exactly is it that annoys you OP? Some details on why you think ADS is bad would be good I think.
What annoys me personally is that the sensitivy while in ADS mode is way too high for standard ARs ( I'm using a mouse). On the other hand, sensitivity of ADS on the tactical AR is way too low, this is completely weird and makes the controls very inconsistent. As it is, there is no sensitivity setting that allows you to handle tactical and standard ARs equally effective, you will always have to tune for one of them, which makes the other one unusable.
Edit: sorry, overlooked your second post. I agree, the random mess up of your aim is weird, particulary because that movement is instantaneous. No way to comprehend why your aim is at the new position, because the view just 'teleports' to the new direction. A much better solution would be some kind of camera shaking that messes up your aim temporarily but makes it possible to clearly track the movement of the crosshair and adjust accordingly. |

don't really see anything wrong with it and I have played oh quite many first person shooters on consoles online and offline.
There's this small dead-zone issue I have tough, it could be teeny weeny bit smaller for the right analog stick. You know for those situations when you are trying to snipe down a sniper from 300-500m and his head is the size of a pixel or 2?
as for the gun shaking, its actually pretty accurate implementation as assault rifle does kick quite a bit and quite fast when you fire with it. Even with single rounds at the arms of a professional. But these are scifi weapons and the planets have / should have varied gravity tough. |

oneshytalk was not referring to the kick of an assault rifle, but the effect of explosives that detonate near you. Your aim will be thrown off to some random direction, it's very irritating. Try to toss a grenade close to your feet and then watch your aim. |

My closest guess is aiming down scope. |

/quicktroll They renamed the abnormal douchebag skill. It's Caldari or Gallente HAV. /quicktrollend
I think that for ADS, the reticle and most of the display should be customisable. Change reticle, change zoom, almost everything should be user defined. I think that would be a excellent and achievable goal. Setting a different sensitivity for ADS vs Hipfire would also be a good addition.
Finally the explosive feedback is in it's first implementation. I'm a HUGE fan of it, but it needs work. Your aim should probably go back to where you originally aimed after 0.5 seconds. Start with that, then play around more internally please CCP. |

#7 Posted: 2012.08.25 17:35 | Report I think on the whole aiming is strange, you get better results hip fireing than when you ADS I think this may have alot to do with the way sights work on the guns in this game (can only talk of AR'S SMG's and shot guns)
EG other shooter you press ads button up pops a sight you get your dot or crosshair and shoot and hit, dust you open your sight and a mini tv pops up with the smallest recticule in the history of fps's that is so sensitve you miss through trying to use it.
Come on ccp I want the sight that was in some of the first dust videos you know the proper red dot one

Oh, ok. Some difference then. I were told earlier it meant "Advanced Dodging Skills" and were then used in defence of excessive strafing in minor league "gun games" like CoD.
As for Aiming down the sights, well, I seem to have better luck hitting when I don't do it, and use hip firing. Which is just wrong.

I'm with you there, we need no such douche bag skills in Dust. |
