The things that set dust 514 apart as a shooter?
The gun game play is complete **** compared to most other AAA fps on console. (That's not saying much either) The health is to high while the movement speed is to slow. Makes for boring slow game play. The equation is all messed up and the maps are to big. The only people that still think this game is good are the people wearing ccp fanboy sunglasses. You won't be able to see the truth through those shades.
I would say that sets it apart from other shooters. |

Even though some of us see the potential fail dust 514 is becoming, that doesn't mean we don't want this game to do well. So STFU with your GTFO BS. I will leave when this game goes up in flames and then I'm going to laugh about it. I want a good mmofps on console so I hope this doesn't happen.

There's all the other stuff that this game does/is going to do. Like the variation and complexity of all the suits/modules/weapons/vehicles etc, the integration into EVE and the MMO aspect, the potential RTS element (when commanders can direct the action from above, and choose which installations to place), the market stuff, and other things I've probably forgotten.
The thing with all the other "lesser" shooters (IMO lesser because of the lack of ambition, innovation) is that the gunplay is the main feature, all the other elements have been done many times, so the shooting mechanics are what sets them apart from their prequels/rivals.
Dust just has so much more going for it.
If the fps aspects and shooting mechanics of this game fail, then the game will fail and your precious meta game will be useless because there will be no one playing the game. **** the complexity if its going to be the reason dust fails.
Fix the game play and then add the mmo aspects after release. I am almost positive I read something where ccp stated this is what they are doing. That they are focusing on the fps aspect of this game more atm. |

You trying to be those who are like told you it would do well when it wins but then if it fails you are the on who goes told you so. Can't be both so pick a side and get off the dam fence.
Ummmmmmm, this is a beta and we are testing. That's why we are here, to test and help make the game better. Did that really go that far over your head? Did you really just miss the point that hard?
I want a good mmofps on console. I am not a ccp fanboy so I could care less if it does fail. There will be other mmofps titles to play in the future. Its not the end of the world. The funniest part of it all is that even though the game play and shooting mechanics are crap. the ccp fanboys post endless love threads about how great dust is.
They are having trouble seeing all the fail through their ccp fanboy sunglasses. It shades their eyes from the truth. |

Personally I love the game besides all of the server issues and such. Hit detection is nearly perfect for me (besides the occasional invincible scout) and the maps are great. Besides, it's not even finished yet. We're still one or two builds from release people.
I don't think its people hating on the game, more or less people came here expecting something different from the average CoD BF3 KZ3 clone. When in fact we got something much worse. We are getting all the things that go into a great mmofps. A market, a decent skill system, corp battles, yet we are missing the most important part. Good fps mechanics and a balanced move speed to health ratio. I think disappoint is the word you are looking for.

The problem with CoD stems much deeper then testing. Its the mentality that the game breeds. It targets mindless casuals and programs them to think that this is how fps should be. Throw the average CoD casual into a game without any aim assist or kill streaks and most people will claim the game just sucks. When in fact the game they have been programmed to play sucks. The responsiveness and gun game is one of the few things CoD gets right. Aim assist, lack of health, low strafe speeds, almost everything CoD gets wrong imo.
The biggest thing dust gets wrong is health to movement speed ratio imho. ****** Gun mechanics are shadowed by this problem tbh.

I can't play any other FPS anymore because I have so much fun playing DUST that all the other ones bore me. I still don't see why people think the hit detection is so bad, it ain't perfect but it isn't horrible. Do they not know how to aim? IMO this game has much better gunplay than that disgrace to the Battlefield franchise BF3. All CCP needs to do is iron it out a little bit and I think it will be perfect.
Take ccps kitten out of your mouth. The game play is pretty garbage atm. I would rather get drunk and play paper boy on an NES then reboot my PS3 50 times to play 15 matches in dust. Shooting mechanics are still crappy. |

Shooting mechanics are still crappy. Whoa whoa whoa whoa, calm down bro. I'm just stating my opinion. I have only had to reboot my PS3 one or two times, one of which was a hard freeze. I've had to reboot the game client ALOT but I don't really mind. If you can't enjoy it then I feel bad for you because testing/playing this beta has been an extremely fun time for me.

I salute you for testing this crappy game through all the bugs but I pity you for being stuck in your state of delusion. Its a symptom of fanboyism. |
