Another problem -_- The battle finder has no maps on it except a random ambush one, and even though it says 0/0 players, when you try and play it, it says the server is full. Instant Battle doesn't help this problem at all, as all I ever find are ambush matches. Seems like this game has more and more glitches everyday. And before everone starts telling me "it's a beta, there are supposed to be some problems" it seems it's always the same problems that occur. It's been a almost week since the new build opened, but still these problems exist. |

I think its intentionally like this to test the 'Instant Battle' feature.
Sadly that means games are a lottery. |

Think your right, but a Dev Post in the updates confirming this would have been useful. |

This instant battle is ******* bullshit!!
3x times got "The server is full" (who the **** cares, why would I even want to connect to a server that is full!!) Then I got to a battle just to see its final "DEFEATED" screen (another 5 minutes of waiting wasted) Just to start another instant search which brings me to "controller settings screen" where it got stuck. So a Restart follows.
So far I didnt have more than 4 continous battles without glitch, freeze, invalid dropsuits and so on. Least to say that its 90% ambush.
Since new patch its just everything got worse.
Just got another DEFEATED screen as the welcome to a battle... |

it does seem with this precursor build the bugs and glitches have increased.... i havent given up on the game but the hard resets and freezing plus the invaild fittings are starting to get a bit annoying. it makes it harder to test the game if the game has become very unstable...

Indeed!
I was in EVE Beta back in 2003 and I remember them CCP pplaying with pirate difficulties, and lots of other adjustments but hardly any connection problems or freezing and stuff.
The worst that happened to my company was 1 day rollback at the time we were moving with everything from low sec to high sec because of invincible pirates which CCP wanted to test on us. All the assets and wealth in Beta was carried on to Full version when EVE started.
So it was difficult but not as annoying as beta of DUST. Considering that we are doing all this to get wiped again... I tested some things to get an idea here in Dust what to become when it goes live but what purpose is to try playing on this unstable build if we get to ground zero in few weeks?
I pray every single time I am at controller loading screen to be able to play and then pray again to have a dropsuit which is VALID. What sort of game testing experience is that? |

There was a full wipe in Eve from BETA so I am not sure what you mean by "All the assets and wealth in Beta was carried on to Full version when EVE started" - and it was very buggy when it went live. |

They where removed to test instant battle, if they forced people to only play that mode they can get the results quicker and be able to test them.
If battlefinder was still up the number of people using the broken feature would drop off significantly preventing it from ever getting fixed. |

There's a message in the Battle Finder that says "please use Instant Battle" - if that's not a dev response, I don't know what is. |

My theory... from a "Server Full" persptive...so many players are connecting to a server so fast, that even though intially there may have been a slot for you when the client queried the server.. by the time your client is actually finished establishing itself all the slots were taken up by players with better connections than you.. so "Server Full" happens because of your shabby network connection and not because the client at first attempt tried to put you in an already "full" game...
Same Person with other valid points wrote: Then I got to a battle just to see its final "DEFEATED" screen (another 5 minutes of waiting wasted)
This happens because the client found an open spot somewhere... anywhere...anyhow.... There is no logic to say, "There is only 1 minute left in match so please don't try to connect to those open slots..."... This actually happens in a ton of games.. the main difference being you don't have to wait so long to find this is the case
Same Guy.. another valid point... wrote: So far I didnt have more than 4 continous battles without glitch, freeze, invalid dropsuits and so on
I've had similar experiences usually 2-3 in a row before things start to degrade. There's probably too much debug code and/or logging and/or resource leaks happening that cause any more than that many to degrade the client too far.

Got yout points, I am aware why most likely "server is full happens" but that doesnt mean it cant be improved so it doesnt happen. What network connection do I need? Better than the others so they get the message and I can play? Faul logic in that!
Instant battle finder is new and needs to be improved, no question there. and one of the features should be improving logic in search of open slots, I am sure later on will be also added criteries to it so I dont get to play always deathmatches which I dont like.
And lastly, improving loading times would improve overall experience but that comes (if) on the very end by optimalizing the source codes and removing unnecessary data logging. |

Or how about they bring back the maps to the Battle Finder. Haven't they tested the Instant Battle enough? I mean everyone is using it too find matches, I'm sure they've gotten enuf data on it and now they should try to fix it. |
