I was thinking that if you're going to combine Dust with EvE there should be more to the game than just a battleground format. Considering how large and expansive the EvE universe already is, it seems like there could be a lot more done with Dust. I was thinking that EvE players could hire one of us, or even an entire squad, to run "hits" on other ships through the use of on-board sieges/sabotage missions.
The results of these missions could deeply adversely affect characters within the EvE game, as well as present opportunities to carry out "merc" contracts for other EvE players. Other ideas could be scouting for information to bring back to the contractor, stealing items for the contractor, etc.
Obviously there would be a reward system for the players, as well as giving EvE players the chance to use their resources to fund these missions. |

This has been suggested many times, but EVE people seem really against it. I'm personally for it. Here's what I think is the most recent thread on the subject: https://forums.dust514.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=28126&find=unread I proposed it in this crazy thread as well: https://forums.dust514.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=29238&p=1 |

It's a long way off, but I see DUST more generally as an expansion of EVE into the realm of first-person assault-action. Which means a few years in the future, if we make it that long, DUST has the possibility to expand into capturing space structures, sabotage, theft, and other possibilities that don't involve space-flight. It would require a crazy amount of development, though, and DUST requires at least a couple years of work before they would even start. But if this is successful, a more integrated EVE/DUST universe is definitely in the cards, IMHO. |

i'd like to see some asymmetrical combat.
say there's a squad of 6 or clones disguised as civilians that just wear shield gens - no armor and with only a sidearm. it's their mission to take out a generator or turn off life support or something while a security team has to hunt them down and capture (using either some new type of non-lethal weapons or normal weapons with stunner rounds) without killing civilians.
the "terrorists" get points if they can either kill (to prevent interrogation) or free a captured comrade, but if security brings a terrorist to a checkpoint they can i.d. a new terrorist.
it would be an intense mindgame of watching the npc population to see if any of them are paying too much attention to the various objectives or trying to get around a scanning checkpoint that would reveal them vs a team that is underpowered but has the advantage of surprise and stealth.
anyone up for some spy-games? |

anyone up for some spy-games? Every play the Assassin's Creed multiplayer? It's very difficult to implement this so that the PCs can blend naturally. Love the idea, but it's a long way off, if ever.
I think there's a lot more to be explored with infiltration as is before we get into complex AI models like this. Say you have a big complex, for example, and you know there's a team of six enemies dropping somewhere in the complex to complete an objective, but there are many routes they can take and several optional objectives to protect in different locations (security systems, etc.) that make it much easier for them to take the final objective. Go. |

Go. Did you play Brotherhood before they released the third DLC (and the game-breaking patch that came with it). They were closer then than they have been since. You COULD consistently hide - most of the time - in that game. |
