Melee could use a little work. That's the first thing I noticed entering the game. That I can't Melee for the life of my clone. |

Melee is tied to stamina, so if you can't melee then your stamina is probably too low. Melee damage can be increased with skills, and special modules. |

I think the depth of Melee is good, its the animation that doesnt quite fit. Maybe because of the range or maybe the speed of the animation, but its definitely not as lethal as it should be...Also, maybe a little homing effect ( as in COD ) would make it more worthwhile and a viable sneak tactic.no?? |

Are you implying a soft lock knife? That's a horrible idea. Knives create so many problems in FPS games, especially large scale ones. |

Need a Cloaking Device. I take back everything I said about Knives in the other post, if only we could get a Cloaking Device. Handwave it away as something that requires the full processing power of the suit and thus can't actively aim and shoot weapons for X seconds after decloaking, but stabbing someone with a low-tech knife is not restricted.

If it's anything like EVE, it'll be severely hosing your movement speed, preventing you from being able to attack while cloaked, and with a 'cooldown time' after decloaking before you can attack with ranged weapons. Pretty good 'balancing factors', all around.
But I do agree, some obscure method of detecting them would be nice. Like having a 'predator' visual effect if they Sprint while cloaked (or remove cloaked sprinting entirely), or making it so that one of those deployable sensor devices that aren't in the game yet can pinpoint them. |

melee feels like it is buggy and very slow. even other games where you have to be close to get it are easier. and it seems like melee is hit or miss |

The knifing animation needs to be more like battlefield bad company 2. I also don't support a lockon for knifing. |

I'd settle for a noise the cloak pack makes at least then you know to be on your guard. There are many ways around it and if theres going to be someone actually sat in the MCC comanding the battle small deployables like you said to give local intel and extra upto date info for the MCC guy. Or maybe something handheld like the marines in the aliens films. But yeah having invisibility is a big thing in FPSs too big to not be able to counter it somehow.
i hate being spawned on in ambush matches having a cloaker running about and popping up behind you when it takes forever to turn around would just be lame and annoying. People would just quit. |

kinda agree, but don't you think that in dust the suit ur wearing provides more protection then the suit ur wearing in CoD against a knife? |

I think the terrible melee in this game demonstrates exactly why every other game incorporates a lock-on or at least a lunge built into the knife attack. It's (almost) impossible to knife a moving target otherwise. You can't knife while sprinting, so there is no chance of ever knifing someone else who is sprinting.
So on top of the knife being extremely difficult to land in the first place, it takes at least two hits with it to kill anyone unless you have it maxed out and stacked 3 mods in a proto suit's high slots..
I can live with it not being a one-hit-kill, or I can live with it not being easy to land, but not both. |
