Hey everyone,
I jumped into the beta yesterday as a PS+ member. I was very very excited to try this game out. I've been waiting for a good while to try it. And now that I've played it for about 24 hours, I'm about ready to delete it from my HD and not look back. Why, you might ask? I have zero idea of what's going on. Whereas it appears everyone else around me knows exactly what they're doing.
I haven't been in a game yet where anyone runs in squads. I was of the impression that this game is designed to favor squad-based play. Instead, it seems like everyone takes assault and treats this game like every other FPS out there, running around and jumping. When I try to snipe, I'm killed with one shot from an assault player. When I play a medic, I can't get to any wounded players (and I don't know how to use the freaking injection, either LOL). Am I missing something?
Secondly, I came up with a great loadout for my heavy (what I specialized in) and yet it says "invalid" when I try to use the character. Why is that happening?
Any advice would be great. I know the Dust community has a reputation for being very friendly. This is not one of those cases where i know I'll improve by losing. It's not possible to improve when you're killed immediately after spawning. I'd really like some detailed explanation of how loadouts and skills work. Or what I should and shouldn't buy early on. If I should respec or something. There seems to be zero mentoring in this game in any capacity. I don't know what goes where or what I should spend money on or anything like that.
One more question -- does voice chat work? Or is that one of the bugs they're working out?
Again, I'd appreciate the help. |

Mariano G wrote:Hello, when a class says invalid it means your out of items. You have to constantly buy new guns equipment unless there militia stuff, aka noob stuff. Why do you think you earn like 50,0000 isk a match to buy new equipment... Also, try to read the turtorials in the neocom. I haven't tried voice chat even though I have mic I believe you have to press a button first.
Ah! I had no idea I had to keep replacing my stuff! That makes sense now! I'll explore that more.
And yes, I've tried pushing the button for voice chat. I know a majority of PS3 players don't have or use mics, and that seems completely counter to the concept of a squad based game. How the heck do you formulate tactics without speaking to one another?
The neocom hasn't really helped me, nor has the sticky above. I mean I understand most of it, I just can't figure out how to put it to use. |
