Ugh, this game is just sooo bad (just like my English, sorry)...
Not fun at all. How anyone at CCP can say that "anyone will be able to drop in game for fun 15 minutes" ? More like 10 minutes of reading and 5 of PURE frustration because he can't kill anybody.
Stupid finite weapons mechanic, way over the top learning curve, way too much text...
Dear CCP , please pay more attention to actual combat and more intuitive fitting. I know that devs don't allow words such as "MAG" or "Battlefield" or "CoD" or "Killzone" but plese CCP - look at this games and learn something about FPS. Like you know, it's just wrong that noob cant kill anybody or when veteran can kill a tank with just one burst from his rifle.
People wants actual FPS, not "EVE on foots". Again, look at BF3, and again, sorry for my English |

Or just be a Logistic and support your teammates with armor repair, revive and supplies. Support is good, but believe me, whole game mechanic is just too much complicated for average Joe. Its ok with EVE - people want it - people pay for it. But Dust needs bigger broad appeal if CCP hopes it to survive for more than just 1 year. What I want to say its just make it simple, make it clean, more like FPS, less like MMO. |

I disagree. If CCP wants it to survive for a couple years, maybe it would work to engineer it for the average FPS player. But if, like with EVE, they're building a business to last for a long time, they need something different. There's a bit of work that needs to happen making it easier to get into the game at the start, but that depth and complexity is necessary if they want to keep players around for years.
I think that they started from the wrong end. IMO they needed to nail FPS mechanic first and than add things like EVE online support, ton of text about universe etc.
And first thing to do - scrap that finite weapons nonsense. IMO of course. But I would pay 60$ for full game and maybe few dollars more for customization ( hats from team fortress 2) but I can't justify paying for something that will disappear within few hours.
And of course - it just wrong and bad for the game that noobs cant' kill vets. I mean its o.k. in EVE or other RPG, but DUST is an FPS. |
