B: Milita tanks are squishy, gunloggi/surya can be taken down reliably by three guys with AV grenades at something like 10% of their cost.
Marauders are much tougher, and black ops will be tougher still if I ever see one being used, but I'm not gonna begrudge someone having alot of power on a fit that costs them millions every time it dies.

Oh I remeber you Dante Dedrik, thats because your squad was stupid and trying to kill a tank worth 350,000isk designed to survive heavy AV weapons. I just drove away and found a good place to hide.
Otherwise as for Black ops, they have one less medium/low slow so actually may infact be slightly squishier. |

if driven properly (aka never stand still) and are properly fit (aka 15k-20k ehp) you can: 1. evade most AV weapon hits cause of the speed, remember that sharp turns makes swarms hit the ground often, or hit obstacles 2. survive alot of punishment in the case you get hit.
they indeed are overpowered when someone that knows how to use the tank properly sits in it but the usual noob that camps a spot gets blown up pretty fast. |

I honestly don't think tanks belong in the game(at least at this stage). People complain that they're overpowered, which is legit, but people also complain they're too expensive to get destroyed, which is also legit. DUST needs to up the scale and complexity of battlefields for tanks(and even dropships, really) to make sense.
But I'll play along. Count my vote as

With a good driver, and good gunners, you'll see 40 - 60 kills by a single tank. Look at the upper limit of that, and you're seeing an average of 20 kills per person in the tank.
With any more than 2 good AV players on the other team, you WILL be struggling to keep a tank alive, so it's logical to assume, on average, 1 death per match even for a good tank. Sometimes you'll see someone lose several tanks, and often you'll see no deaths, but it generally balances out.
Good infantry players can run 20-1 pretty consistently too. |
