SO, yesterday, I am trolling the battlefield with two of my mates in my mates HAV. I switched at times from the top turret to the front small missile turret and notice something peculiar. Now this was occurring while playing with my mates from the UK and Ireland while I reside in the Bay Area of California (general latency being about 250-280ms from a 10meg per sec transfer rate)
I could shot someone with a missile at point blank range and they would receive no damage, not even splash. In the last build IF I was in a tank as an AG (Assistant Gunner) I could rack up anywhere between 10-25 kills in a match. NOW, I consider myself lucky to get 5.
I know there has been serious issues with hit detection, both handheld and mounted weapons alike. The handheld end seems to have improved a bit since playing yesterday. But the vehicle weapons are sh*t. This goes along with the fact that the missiles WILL NOT explode about 2/3 of the time, if not 3/4, and the translation of splash damage seems NON-existant.
The mechanics and telemetry of the missile from the turret at the point of firing seems to be VERY FLAWED since the missile exits the barrel some 1/4-1/2 of a second after I have already depressed the trigger, and this is even taking into consideration the ROF of the turret I was on.
What i am asking for is to see if this is due to the fact that when I have seem traces of the server in the US, and some one is getting 80-90ms latency when they are in the US themselves (I get on average 55-70ms with the server in Texas) which is due tot he fact that some one has to travel through at least 20+ portals to arrive at the server, is this the same issue just exacerbated with the EU server in London?
Since Vehicles are becoming a little more prevalent now, doesn't it make sense to start addressing the mechanincs of combat with them? |

That is something I have also come across while playing today. I would put missile after missile into people and if I was lucky enough to have it go off, it still wasent likely to cause damage to the target. |

Now comes the question of which missile turrets were they? They have varying splash radii now, some of the smaller radii ones being much harder to land splash hits with. |

It would be interesting if lower end models suffered from inferior ammo quality, and occasional duds were fired, but I feel like given the state of fictional technology that shouldn't be terribly likely.
To note, I've also experienced this problem in both LAVs and HAVs. Basically shooting their chests/feet and the suits take no damage some of the time, and then sometimes the missles do not seem to explode at all. |

I've noticed the same thing with the shotgun on occasion.
