I've noticed that the action and physics of the grenade toss is kinda rough. I know through tweaking and refining this should get better. The difficulties I've had with grenades: 1. Trying to throw a grenade inside an enclosed space is almost impossible. It hangs on the ceiling and lands at your feet. 2. Are all grenades sticky? My first instinct is attempting to bounce a grenade off objects to surprise the enemy. So far it just sticks to the wall. 3. Did I just die from a grenade? There are some occasions there are bounce backs when you get fragged by an explosion. Besides this, there is very little rendering of an explosion. It would be nice to see some kind of flash and residual smoke. Right now all you see is a dust cloud, and only if you are very close. 4. Red Grenade, Blue Grenade. I like the feature, but colored icon shouldn't be so prominent. I would hope to see actual grenade artwork with a smaller friendly/ foe indicator. Spawn Points: 1. On smaller maps, you sometimes start the match on top of the enemy. This almost takes any tactics out of your game. I just got out of a match where eight players we spawned next to each other. It was spray and pray. 2. Spawn point selections are nice to have, but it seems like you can spawn in the middle of action, and be dead before you can even move. Could there be a fitting loss cooldown? If we are paying isk for our gear, it would make sense to give some leeway to an instant death. The haters will say spawn further back and this wont happen. But you have to give your guys support. Would it make sense to allow a buffer zone between the enemy? This may not be possible with coding. I'm not a programmer, so I don't know the possibilities.

Agreed the arcs to high and the distance is too short but the big problem is the fact that they stop as soon as they touch something so you cant throw under an over hang.
The old grenades were great they just needed better rendering. they took skill but offered a lot more options on grenade placement.
spawning in ambush is a pain becuase you tend to spawn ontop of the enemy or on the other side of the map. As far as the skirmish spawns they work just fine camping eliminated, most of the time if you wouldnt venture in any one point of the spawn area by foot then you shouldnt spawn there becuase you dont know where you will end up. |
