From what I hear about EVE from some of my buddies that play it, EVE is not all about fighting and starting battles. Wars tend to be very costly and avenues that offer greater reward for less risk are often pursued (especially at the individual level). DUST is all about killing. That is how we make our living. All the ISK inflation and integration issues aside, how do you personally think that this influx of, well more or less living weapons, into the EVE universe may affect EVE politics or the way that corporations look at their current business strategy? Please, no flame wars or trolling responses; I would just like an honest take from an EVE prospective. How would YOU use us? |

Well at first it wont change anything and untill ccp can make it meaningful for the Pod pilots then its really just a great place to gamble and enjoy the blood sports.
Now link it to Sov and its a another kettle of fish alltogether.
Edit: As for use well I will be hiring out a bunch of you to fight each other for no reason other than to watch you then will prob hire the better corps to go ruin some planets that er I cant go ruin myself.
Mostly tho I expect i will be helping Dust mercs meet Pod pilots in need since I know alot of both now. |

As an EVE player, I will be using you to fight my wars, and depending on game mechanics as close protection bodyguards.
Wars are what i thrive off in EVE and little do people know EVE is ALL about killing ultimately ... the traders are supplying fighters, the industrials are supplying the traders, the miners supplying the industrials, the fighters protecting the miners and fighting wars over moons and planets... so it comes full circle...
DUST Mercs will be being recruited into our Corporation almost instantly... We have much work for our DUST players already lined out!!! |

I think Factional Warfare http://wiki.eveonline.com/en/wiki/Factional_Warfare will be the place we will see most battles take place first. The factions are always at war and now the outcomes mean something more than they used to related to areas of space held by each faction. EVE Pilots can join NPC or player owned corps/alliances and participate in constant states of battle in FW. That will be where us as DUST Mercs will come in first I beleive.
There are also EVE Corps/Alliances that are also constantly in different states of aggression. For example, Red Vs. Blue (RvB) is in a constant state of war but I've heard through certain channels that RvB have no immediate plans to participate yet since most of their activity is in High Security space anyway... Then there is the null sec political landscape where bad blood goes back many years. There may be contracts there eventually just to grief folks into having ot worry about a system as a diversion of sorts... even though no formal war has been declared by the main parties involved. There are a lot of new oppportunites that will open things up acorss the board here. Most of which we can't anticipate fully until more is released on specific game mechanics to support action.
I for one will have my EVE Pilots (since my alt is an EVE Corp CEO established for many years) participate in some form of support with DUST even if it means offering to ally with other corps/alliances already at war...
I think alot of the real information about the mechanics is still close guarded. I'm sure most of the CSM (In Game voted player council)...folks (who are all null sec anyway) have enough information to do some strategic planning but for the EVE population at large, pilots, CEOs, and Alliances are in the dark as much as we are in DUST about all the mechanics...
We can probably establish soft contracts by word of mouth right now though.. just can't enforce "on a hand shake".. and given the nature of the EVE Universe would not want to....

In the end, EvE is about killing. Its complex to get there, but thats the final objective. |
