My mic is hooked up correctly, my PS3 Voice-sensitvity is set to 2
I say mic check and can anyone hear me, no one responds, i type in chat, can you hear me on mic.. people say no.
I don't know what the problem is, i have mine set to 'push to talk' I've tried controller and keyboard, I know controller is left on directional pad and "Z" on the keyboard (I prefer kb/m)
I use a Desktop Mic, The mic has a button that you push in (stays in) for the mic to be active. It's in. it works on the playstation mic test thing.
It's a wired mic, with a 3.5mm connector- this connects to a mini- USB sound card which lets me use any 3.5mm connector type microphone. This setup has worked with other games.
anyone ideas? anyone with same or similar setup?
thanks in advance for help. |

In the Playstation 3's Settings area there is something that looks vaguely like a Wii's remote... under that there are peripherals i believe, you have to set the microphone to respond to your usb port that way, as well as once this is set up you can make it so that voices come over the headset instead of the TV. If you know how to set the microphone sensitivity it should be directly beneath that.
I don't recall what it says off the top of my head, but there should just be 2 options generally speaking one turns the microphone on, the other off. |

thanks for your reply,
Directly under the mics sensitivity there's input and output- For input i have the USB sound card, for output i have system default. so the MIC goes IN and the Voice (from other people) comes out my speakers, Which i want. It works on the Playstation but not in game( or people say they don't hear me )
I have it set correctly, Just doesn't work in Dust. .. yet.
edit: i wonder if there's something in my PS settings blocking the use of voice in Dust, like a control put in there so i can't talk to people. : ( I'll keep looking. |

Have you tried turning off PTT? I was unable to get voice to work with PTT on. It shows a disabled Mic in channel on my name with it turned on. |

No i have not tried turning push to talk OFF, I assumed with push to talk OFF i would have auto talk on, which i dislike. I prefer push to talk with mics. but i will try it just to see. |

I TESTED IT -
PTT OFF (auto-talk) works the mic symbol turns on and off as i talk. PTT ON : COMPLETLY DISABLES MY MIC EVEN IF i push the mic button "Z" or Direction LEFT button. it puts a red X through my mic symbol as if i had no mic.
let me know when this is fixed or what the problem is.

I think this has been fixed. I have a similar setup with a USB preamp connected to a professional microphone. I had problems until the battery in my bluetooth headphones died (was using them to listen to voice channel). Routing from my preamp to the channel and from the channel to my speakers I was finally able to get a response from someone. I too prefer PTT to VOX. I don't want to hear your dog/radio/wife in the middle of a battle . |

I hope this mic issue doesn't have anything to do with my Router settings.. I live in an apartment complex, here they don't allow you to access the router. It doesn't make sense b.c Open mic seems to work (from the last time i checked) but Push to talk does Not.
