Instant battle seems to be working much better today than yesterday. I was bale to play about 2 hours straight before I got the loading screen when leaving a battle heading back to the merc quarters. Shut off ps3 and restarted game and player over another hour and I got the invalid fitting bug. Again restarted game and played about another hour before quitting to take care of rl business.
All in all it is working much much better but still needs a little work.
My problem with instant battle is being forced to play ambush maps. I play scout/sniper and when we get the maps where you spawn inside an installation, I'm almost useless. I feel lucky if I can just get outside the building without dying more than twice and maybe getting a lucky kill from the few sniper overlooks.
Random spawns solve spawn camping but as often as not, I spawn in the middle of hostiles several times a match. since I can see hostiles on the map, why would I willingly spawn into an area where I know they are going to be?
Player counts from last builds should have shown you that ambush maps aren't very popular. The only reason I haven't just quit after a match begins is because I am trying to give you some honest testing and playing what you want us to do. If this wasn't the beta and you didn't need the data, then I wouldn't be playing instantbattle at all unless I could pick the type of map I wanted to play on, either ambush or skirmish. |

Honestly i dont think ambush mode is all that good i dont think it does DUSTs gameplay justice as the gun play its self has somewhat to be desired in a mode like ambush where gun play is basicly everything its playing to its own weakness curently dusts strenght is coming from its objective based games which require far more than gun play to win which is where dust shines in the teamwork, tacticsand the dynamic of the game it has so much going on with so many variable between you and enemy it rarly gets boring |

the instant match is a good idea but we should also have the choice to choose like it was before, but with the instant match option, i do feel better knowing that matchmaking tries to pick players close to your own skill levels, however i still feel like there is a huge gap between me and some of my enemies that i face head on. i can unload full clips and have to reload and they kill me with just a few hits. i realize that is part of the dropsuit skills and such but its still aggravating, especiall when your faced with a bunch of ppl more advanced than you, its very frustrating when this happens with the added frustration of knowing all you gear was just wasted and you didnt have a chance. |

I know it's not out yet, and the Battlefinder may be reactivated later.
What I'd like to see, for the Instant Battle, is a setting the player can use to choose which type of battle they want to be joined to (Ambush, Skirmish) so they get what they prefer.
Pre Precursor, Ambush was Skirmish, and Skirmish was Assault. There were more Assault players than Skirmish. 90% of the IBs I'm joined to now are Ambush, which I don't do well in because of the sideways spawn system that can spawn you in the middle of hostiles (FIX!). |

Overall, not a fan of those simple death matches either. It's simply no fun and there are far too few obstacles to be able to hide or get behind enemies shooting at you. Add the horrible control schemes (I just want to bind my own scheme... :( why can't I shoot with triggers?) it's simply not fun. Played two rounds of instant battle and simply turned off the console. Depending on your luck you're just getting owned over and over again, sometimes not even able to actually start moving after spawning. |
