Three would be preferable. 1) Oh god I have to use my rifle in CQB! Because grenade throwing and weapon switching is so horribly slow! 2) Scoping out my next run for cover, most shooting, should be greater than assault rifle distance 3) Actual Recon distance! Also the most fun type of shooting. |

I'd rather they just fix the weapon switching. |

AMEN!!! I played for only 15 seconds before the stick and button layouts ALL pissed me off for being so a** backwards no matter which one I picked; and I figured out REAL quick that the scope needs more zooms and a setting in settings where you can TOGGLE through those instead of having to HOLD the zoom button... which is REALLY annoying. |

No, no, no, no, and no to the first one. All that's going to do is promote quickscoping. Sniper rifle is meant to fail hard in CQB, it shouldn't be made an option. Also, that's the con of sniping; getting caught with the proverbial pants down. Every other class has its weaknesses, this is the sniper's. And weapon switching isn't as slow as you suggest; with a little skill and luck, you can turn the tables.
As for the other two, go for it. I personally prefer being able to see the whites of their eyes when I create a new skull cavity. |

I must disagree.
There are RL scopes made by Trijicon (The maker of the oh SO awesome ACOG) that can go from ZERO to something like 15 or 20 zoom; and without parallax.
So yes, the disadvantage of the sniper is CQB is a royal pain in the keester but; this is set 21 thousand years in the future in a parallel galaxy; if 4 seperate empires can't come up with zoom tech that allows flawless CQB AND superior long range scouting and shot placement...
... then what the heck were they doing for 20,000 years...

Normally I agree with you, and your statements are correct, however, they've taken great pains to make maps which do not encourage sniping from long-distance. If I wanted a slow-firing assault rifle, I would buy a slow-firing assault rifle. I should not be receiving counter-fire from assault rifles, therefore, either make them like normal rifles (quick-scoping), or make them like real sniper rifles from the freaking future. |

they were deevolving for a while because when the eve gate closed, they didn't have enough resources to survive... so mass extinction... rebirth... reknowledge... and we are back... but you are right, in black ops 2 they atleast had scopes that could see through walls.

Nobody cares about how stuff works in real life. Seriously. I don't mean to be harsh, but the only thing that matters is what makes for fun and balanced gameplay. Snipers are very dangerous at long range. The trade-off is their relative weakness at short range. You should be drawing a side-arm or running away if you're engaged up close as a sniper. That's the price you pay for being able to reach out and kill people better than anyone else. |

Agreed. Sniper rifles need a little tweaking. At this stage they feel very flunky and unrealized to me.
