It bugs me that when you stop an enemy hack in progress in skirmish you don't get points, it's almost advantageous to let them take a key point and then hack it back for the full points. |

I feel the same way, and there are other things I feel deserve to be rewarded. I made this thread about the subject https://forums.dust514.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=25061&find=unread |

You are right it is frustrating to not get any points for stopping the hack. But on the other hand if you give points for it then that will promote Boosting by dishonest players in order to gain easy XP.
Let's say two groups of players decide to play a match and agree to let one side hack points A and B and the other side will hack it back quickly and it goes back and forth like that. For points C and D it is the opposite just in case hacks are worth more than proposed hack-stops. Pretty friggin' shady but it happens in a lot of games. Sure it can't happen so much now while the game is in beta but once full release hits...
The way it is set up now, with only the hack getting points, severely hampers this sort of enterprise. Sure the teams could just wait for it to go fully to the other side and then re-hack but it is a pretty slow process and a bit tedious for most to bear.
I would prefer to see Attack and Defend bonuses introduced. This would place an invisible perimeter around each objective and if you kill a defender within the perimeter you get extra points. Same thing if you are defending an objective and you kill an attacker within the perimeter.
This would encourage players to stick around and actually defend an objective once it has been taken instead of running off to make trouble elsewhere.
It might even encourage attacking players to play a bit smarter and actually clear out an objective before risking a quick hack that usually only gets them killed. |

Agreed people will absolutely exploit this way just as RydogV stated.
Great idea with the points for defending. It should go one step further and divide the points between attackers/defenders for larger group sizes. For example say the going rate for 1v1 defense is 10 points the sole defender gets 10 points. Now let's say that it's a 1v2 (2 defenders) you split that 10 points so each get 5 points. Odd number of defenders/attackers?, no problem put in a rounding function that rounds up on the split. |

Don't forget, you don't *GET* points for hacking a key structure until after it succeeds. So if you stop a hack from getting to completion, the other guy doesn't get anything for it.

True. And those are WP's right? Has CCP announced what they are for yet? By stopping the hack you should get WP if you don't already (never noticed either way) |

The thought of boosting bothers me less than the idea of this not getting rewarded. Any boosting wouldn't really last long anyway because an objective is a central focus, and others will undoubtedly interrupt by shooting one of the boosters in the face instinctively (that's what most people do when they see a red dot). |

In the current build, WPs are the measure by which orbital strikes are authorised.
Also, giving the other team a guaranteed +100 points (with possibly several +50 point Hack Assists) is a bad idea when it's only a POTENTIAL 100 points coming back your way (with a potential couple of +50s). |

just so you guys know the squad leader can designate targets to attack/defend and then you get points for kills and actions done near the highlited objective. |

That's a terrible idea, if I'm defending an objective I'm defending an objective, though perhaps bonus points could be awarded. |

Good info about the strikes. Are they implemented yet though? if so how? |

When I played last night I had a squad leader that kept putting the frago on different targets (Supply Depots, CRUs, Objectives, etc.) and I was just hacking & defending away. Ended up with roughly more than 100,000 SP and 120,000 ISK. This was all done in full militia gear as well. I loved it! |

If players on opposite teams want to exploit hacking they can already do it by hacking supply stations back and forth, and they still get points and takes far less time than hacking an objective. With corps as integral to this game as they are, it just seems inevitable this kind of exploitation will occur. |

Good info about the strikes. Are they implemented yet though? if so how? If your squad is doing well, you'll get a prompt saying "Orbital Strike available" or something. When that happens, the leader can - using the d-pad right menu, select a new option - "Orbital Bombardment" which brings up the map and lets you drop explosions anywhere you want. very pretty. |

Best squad ldr I've seen is Omnipoetens Zitro, slinging out fragos with changing tactical conditions. This Is how the game should be played, not rewarding solo players. Always check to see if you are squad ldr! |
