Dust 514 and PlanetSide 2 both have unique features that the other lacks, and will NEVER gain from the other.
Dust 514 offers DEEP customizations, tons of options, THOUSANDS of planets to fight on, set in EVE online and running in real time, etc.
PlanetSide 2 offers INSANE scale, amazing graphics, and ease of accessibility.
Dust 514 and PlanetSie 2 will NEVER compete as long as they're on different platforms, because even with the next-gen consoles, Dust 514 will NEVER be able to offer what PlanetSide 2 can in-terms of scale of battles and graphics on high-end PCs. Consoles go forward one step, PCs go forward 5 steps. And PlanetSide 2 will never beat Dust 514 when it comes to the MMO features taken from EVE Online, and being set into that universe.
If Dust 514 goes on PC, that changes EVERYTHING...Dust 514 in my opinion would S H I T all over PlanetSide 2 with all the possibilities that PCs offer. |

Thats true, Dust 514 will have a HUGE audience at launch, but I can guarantee you that it WILL FAIL on the PS3, just because of the lack of a dedicated and hardcore audience. Dust 514 will be the new MAG, only a few people will appreciate such a hardcore, objective and team play based game. This is where the PC wins, there are way way more dedicated hardcore fans on PC that like this kind of game. But on Consoles, people just want those plug and play, Run-n-Gun noob friendly experiences like CoD and what Battlefield have become.
I still hope that I'm wrong, and hope the best for Dust 514 because I see lots of effort put into this game.

I did NOT say hardcore gamers are only on PC, read my post again...I said there are a few hardcore dedicated fans on the consoles compared to the so many on PC.
Also, PC will NEVER be obsolete, as long as games are being DEVELOPED on PCs...LOL...PC will always be the ruling platform...And no, I'm not a PC fanboy, and I don't even have a gaming PC right now, all I've for gaming is a PS3. But planning on going to PC again like I used to 3 years. |
