Wow, I just got a slew of games in--don't know bout y'all, but I use the red button on the neocom--and I just have to say that I love it!
The maps...The graphics....the tighter gameplay......everything has been upgraded, expanded upon and improved.
I played an awesome Skirmish game on some massive map with Skyscrapers!!!! and 5 capture points!
The graphicss are much prettier...props to your art staff! The HUD is clearer and more visible, grenade markers and everything.
I looked up at the sky on an ambush run in old plateaus--dont worry guys only saw old plateaus one time, everything else was new maps--and it was a cool sunset with some color, a vast improvement and very noticeable. The buildings are more detailed.
So, bravo to you, CCP!

I concur wholeheartedly, in the first minute of my first match I noticed crisper FPS game-play mechanics, more responsive controls and improved graphics...not just in the environment but with characters as well. Comms issues seem to have been fixed as well as spawn locations and the timers.
Grenades actually go out on the first tap of the L2 button and throws seem more accurate. Your shots have tracer effects that allow you to adjust fire a lot better as well.
Still some lag and some freezing but hey, I can certainly deal. Very impressed and it is evident CCP listened to folks who were providing constructive feedback throughout the process. I never really doubted them but nice to see them come through with such a substantial impact :) |

Yeah, I love the changes with the grenades, as i tend to use them in all the fps that i play. And did you notice that you can resupply them now with a nanohive?
The team that i played with had a bunch of hives out and i loved getting my frag- fest on! |

Tony, I usually hate what you post, but I agree and its getting much better with this build and SiSi as the server. Love the new weather, look of maps, hit detection is so much better and no more lag as far as I can see.

I agree completely! They feel much better to use now.
I don't know about the rest of you, but I have not been able to see explosions from other players grenades, friendly or not. Mine seem to blow up nice and pretty, but occasionally I'll see a nade on the ground that isn't mine and it just goes away with no kabloom... Get's very frustrating when you randomly die and not sure why until you read it.
Plenty of people in game have been calling for grenade indicators because of this, which I disagree with. More noticeable explosions could help to get in the mindset of being weary of nades, but right now it's in the back of my mind because I never see them other than written up on the kill feed. Unless the indicator starts with a very small radius and doesn't show which direction the nade is, I don't think it belongs in this game. If they do plan on it, maybe could have skills to improve it. After level 3 Grenades your indicator could expand its radius and show the exact location of the grenade. Any thoughts? |

On the topic of grenades I once saw a neutral one lying on the ground. It had a yellow icon so it wasn't part of any faction. I guess the grenade just emancipated itself from the propagandistic faction conflict and decided to become a peaceful free-thinking individual...
Anyways, when the game works and when there are no hickups the game works very well now. There are no vehicles to spoil the fight so all matches I've been in have been very enjoyable. Apart from that one match with a tank, of course. That was one-sided and dull. But all others were nice. |

Strange though, maybe the player throwing it just died, but that hasn't stopped my grenades from exploding.
I had a match were I couldn't spawn because all of my default suits said they were invalid (haven't spent money on anything but skillbooks so far). I think that was in their bug list so hopefully they are working on it. Beyond that the game feels much better. |

+1 on that. Have a blast when its not frozen! I've seen a few tanks now, depends on your teams communication. They are still weak so not much of a threat unless nobody can work together to get it out, which unfortunately I have to admit, seems to be how most matches are recently. What I'm really worried about is when people start bringing dropships out |

what build is this? 3 or 4? any ways i love the enemy health readouts it reminds me of the old Apple2E amber display which is undoubtedly awesome and timeless and i think it adds an aura of realism to the overall hud. Kudos!

I saw a few (dropships) earlier, but I don't know if they were the killin type, they were off in the distance.
The distance scale on some of the new maps is quite impressive and I am runnin my ass off.......come on pilots ;-)) |
