Of course when a developer goes out of their way to add female gender characters to their FPS game people complain about how that gender has a figure that looks nothing like a model. Really? The woman is covered with armor & a helmet, no muscle tone is revealed. Were you expecting an hour glass figure with big breasted armor plates and nipples on them? Perhaps we can get Joel Schumacher to design some battle outfits for you. ...and people wonder why there aren't many FPS games with the option of female gender. Just goes to show that there is always someone complaining about something. ...or perhaps the moral of the point is that if its not going to be done perfectly it shouldn't be done at all??? |

You speak the truth Raynor Ranga
In the Marine Corps women "in uniform" are required to either have short hair above their neck or have their long hair rolled-up in a bun, they are not allowed to wear makeup outside of special occasions/ceremonies, and have combat uniforms (camouflage utilites) that are not tightly form fitting which alot of times makes it quite indescernible at telling that they are a woman when wearing a kevlar helmet & even more so with a kevlar vest. I've been fooled from a distance quite a couple of times refering to a female Marine as a male Marine during my time in service.
I think the average male that hasn't served in their military expects women in the military to be ultra-girly covered in pink unicorn/barbie doll outfits & wearing scantily clad clothing meant for the beach. They couldn't be further from the truth. {In combat women wear the same styled/patterned uniforms as the men. As for fighting...} Knowledge is just as important as strength if not more so as knowing when to strike, dodge, counter as well as where to strike at, dodge to, & counter with. Victory isn't soley determined by a person's size or gender but rather the knowledge & training that they have and the inteligent & quick application of it. I actually know some female Marines that could put a man in his place quickly & look good while doing it. Its just sad that the only way for some people to remove their ignorance is for them to be personally/physically exposed to the truth as some of them will never actually witness that truth in person or first hand.

No offence does not cancel it out. ;) And your statement seems rather close minded. Honestly I don't care how my character looks, i actually prefer my character to look like this rather than a regular person in a different sci fi fps Ps if you really care so much about how your character in the game looks you need help
I agree with you 100%. I know that your comment about people playing Sims was meant for people that go around demanding that their {female character just has to have an hour glass figure, with beautiful long hair, & noticeable boobs so that she can get the attention that she deserves & also has to have brightly colored outfits with matching accessories} . Listening to a guy whining about his character not having a dropsuits with his favorite color made me want to smack him. I guess I should be blaming games like Halo & Gears of War for the increase of people wanting colorful fruity Power Ranger combat instead of realistic combat.
Too many men & women are focusing too much on the looks of a character & whining as if they are incapable of enjoying the game because the figure of their character, the breast size of their character, the height of their character, the hair of their character doesn't resemble the image of their desired self or their perverted imaginary **** {adult film} star dream girl. In addition to that why is it impossible to believe that a woman can be as tall or as muscular the average man, which actually isn't even that muscular.
Ontop of that this is suppose to be in the future & consisting of alien races. Who's to say that female alien races has to have long hair or breast or even look physically diferent from males. One of the problems is that the limited imaginations of the average person is that "aliens just have resemble human characters because its just {unbelievable} otherwise". There is "no" law that states that all female species have to have breasts or even hair yet the average person expects that.
Personally I honestly could care less about the color of my character's skin, the sexual preference of my character, the religious beliefs of my character, the gender of my character all I care about is gameplay. However I suppose there will always be those that complain about the "look" or "descrption" of something and act like a game is automatically bad because of it instead of focusing on the actual gameplay of a game. Heck even when a developer incororporates changes that fans demanded & complained about not having the fans still find things to complain about with those changes as proven with Bioware's Dragon Age & Mass Efffect series in regards to characters not being properly homosexual or feminine enough.
Just goes to show you that you can't please everyone & that there will always be somone that complains about something.

Brink would have been a better suggestion. I've been playing it again recently (got a really good price on release, and it looked like fun). It's not as bad as I remember it being... Not great, but still fun.
Yeah, Brink was updated a few months after its release with patches, new maps, trophies, level cap & ablities but by then most people returned their respective FPS games forcing those that jumped on late to rely on {stupid} computer AI teammates & go up against {ruthless} computer AI opponents. Any shooter that forces you to rely on AI teammates is usually doomed to fail. Also any shooter that can't maintain its online community is doomed to fail as popularity equals funding & funding equals sustainablity, & sustainablity goes right back into popularity {circle of fps life}.
Brink had promise but it had too many forced choke points that favored the deffenders with turrets. In addition to that it, as with all objective games, was inherrently made worse if you were stuck playing with people without the concept of communication (mics) and teamwork. Original shooters have alot to prove as they basically have to stand toe-toe against shooters that have been out for years if not decades & Brink failed to do that. In a way it was kind of like a small, multi-platfrom, arcade style version of MAG, lol. |
