in a world of drop suit's using two way bio-feedback systems linked into movement assist, load bearing systems, of cybernetic implants into neurological, nerve and muscular-skeletal matter ... why would it matter what the original organic system was designed for?
of more import is the head set , the mentality, of the warrior who is hooked into these systems, because that is all that really matters for a DUSTER merc, the suit and implants are doing everything else.... and for that matter drugs and implants will be altering the hormonal and neurochemical balance of these mercs in any case
but you probably just wanted to troll...

This is gonna be so much fun. I didn't know we'd be posting as our characters.
I basically created a female player so I could target all the players who give me grief for being a 'girl'. I hope we can use Aurum to wipe our TK slate clean. |

Lore-wise, they use generic clone bodies for everyone in combat. Gameplay-wise, it's probably so that people don't complain that "female character models are harder to hit!" even if they aren't, not to mention the fact that if they included separate male and female character models they'd have to spend twice as much memory on each suit of armor. Not that it really matters anyway. Real armor isn't form-fitting, so you can't tell the gender of the wearer anyway.
However, they're going to add a character creator in the full game, so out of battle you'll look exactly as you want to. EVE Online has a fantastic character creator, and if we get that one we won't have any trouble making our characters unique. |

She takes steroids. It's no big deal, female bodybuilders (and male ones) have to take steroids and other stuff to compete. But, it's a reasonable point. Women, with the right drug supplementation, can become as strong as they'd ever need to be to be an effective soldier. |

Of course when a developer goes out of their way to add female gender characters to their FPS game people complain about how that gender has a figure that looks nothing like a model. Really? The woman is covered with armor & a helmet, no muscle tone is revealed. Were you expecting an hour glass figure with big breasted armor plates and nipples on them? Perhaps we can get Joel Schumacher to design some battle outfits for you. ...and people wonder why there aren't many FPS games with the option of female gender. Just goes to show that there is always someone complaining about something. ...or perhaps the moral of the point is that if its not going to be done perfectly it shouldn't be done at all??? |

What?.. Women's bodies are not physically weaker, the only difference is that it is harder to develop muscle. Both the Male and Female body types have the same limitations on strength, but not the same testosterone ratios.
Also, you're talking about factory-produced clones... why would they go and reduce the overall strength of any model they make? |

You don't think heavys are that much bigger than scouts do you? What you're seeing is the dropsuit not the person. They're all probably similar in size to the scout suit as that's form hugging. In a heavy it's extra armour to stop you from getting shot while you're trying to carry that heavy weapon around. This isn't a rantasy setting where armour is form hugging... except scout armour of course.

Greeks and romans used shaped breastplates. I believe the design is called cuirass asthetique or something along those lines. Don't call me on the spelling I haven't used that word since A level Classical Civilisations. |
