First SP wipe at current prices coming up tomorrow, how ya gonna play it ?
Was a full blown assault guy myself, some fits costing 220k + a throw. Obviously not viable anymore for a player with say K/D ratio of 1.3 as of yesterday :s
With the new build, on a good game I was earning maybe 500k - Now I had a ton of clones backed up but I could see isk problems down the line and would have had to do some serious belt tightening.
Seriously considering going scout using dragonfly dropsuit and militia swarm launcher/SMG combo to keep costs down.
Not whinging, 5 yrs served on EVE so I'm down with CCP - just looking for opinions n how you'll manage your finances or are you gonna deviate from considered skill plans now you know the true costs ? |

i know right, and with this economy the prices just keep going up and up, its reaching the point of ridiculousness. why i remember when i was a child you go go down to the corner milkbar and buy a soda pop, a packet of chips and a gram of coke for 5c and still have some change left over. |

The SiSi version of the Eve me is going to go commit insurance fraud on a massive scale and contract it to the Dust me. If that doesn't work, I see myself using militia gear and suits for the most part - breaking out "the good shiit" only when I think the target is worth spending half a mill to take out. |

Cheap fits.
after launch, null sec level 4, faction war lowsec missions, and datacore stockpile from 2 accounts that have been building for years without selling any. Sending some isk to dust will be easy, one mission pays enough to buy gear for week. |

My new fit: -Dragonfly scout suit (blueprint from merc pack and better then militia) -Standard assault rifle -The toxin SD9 (dunno if its the right name, the SMG from merc pack) -Militia nanite injector (med kit) -maybe 2 shield modules - maybe a armor rep if i can fit it.
Reason behind this i want to be fast, deadly and beeing aible to revive downed team mates. I can allready hear how a logi will scream on mic: "HE TOOK MY REVIVE! FUUUUUUU!!!!" Well basically a combat medic. If the guy still wants repair he can fall back and let the logi fix him up with a repair tool. And i think people will actually take their time for a medic cause when they bleedout they loose the equipment. Oh and by the way on Ambush if you bleed out you consume a clone from our reserves. means as long you dont bleed out the "TDM ticket counter" wont go down. |

Ya. We will definatley need to have each others backs if we wanna survive long. But the inflation from nine years of eve economy will definatley take its toll on us dust bunnies. My son plays eve and hes like tellin me that 500 million isk isnt that much. Im like really? I sure could use even 50 million. Im not sure how this will all fan out. Surely we will get better compensation from our battles. |

Some of Eve's ships cost multiple billions of isk (makes sense to me that KM long spaceships are going to cost as much as a small army).
As long as my Eve character has faces that he thinks need shooting, my Dust character isn't going to have isk issues. (Really, make friends with some capsuleers, the money they consider "pocket change" is currently a HUGE amount here in Dust.)

Same profession as I did before... militia scout with a swarm launcher and smg. I never ran with alot proto stuff because I plan on dying alot, but ended up with 10k dropsuit fits of the advanced swarm, proto av grenades, and an assult smg. since the new price increases, I'm guessing I'll only end up with 5k dropsuit fits before the next reset. If I get to something like 20k fits of my normal fit, then I'll start pumping money into better builds.... I'd do about the same thing for any other profession except for the heavy hmg user, where I'd make his cheapest fit with two smg's until I had the skills and isk to buy into having a hmg all of the time. |

For real now.-á
In the last build, when I first went proto, I had issues keeping isk. I also got lazy.-á So I went the the advanced class. I ran three complex shields, 2 basic armor reps, duvalle and nano hive. I had all my mech, engin, and prof trained up. It ran me about 30k. It now runs me about 124k.-á My proto ran me about 65k, now it's 245k.-á So they r about double.-á I found it very easy to make isk the past few days on the advanced set up. I started banking about 30-40% of earnings. But the salvage is just sitting there. I added it up to about 10mil. Hell I have 20 scout proto suits. That's 2mil by themselves.-á |

Thats an easy one, if i read the eve/dust interaction correct. I will transfer Billions of Isk's from "Midas Man" my long time passive market guru who will keep me rolling with top end gear at these prices for Many Years to come.
May even move some $$$ out of the Plex/Mineral/PI markets and start a Dust item business if demand is there.
Looking forward to the enemy reaction on day 1 "WTF is that, I thought there was a character reset...." |

ah ISKES
depends on content added as to how i earn my iskies. i was able to make 23m isk fairly quick.
eve players do not throw isk around, that pays for the to play eve, it buys them pvp ships, fittings, voice coms, killboards etc etc free handouts are very rare.
saying that there are lottos in eve a small isk deposit could net millions/billions back, but there is a risk v reward. you risk that lotto owner running off with all the cash. you risk loosing because of bad choice, or you win.

Dust =/= Eve Eve =/= Dust
therefore comparisons between the two are not the way forward however IMO judging by pricing compared to reward ( disclaimer: based on what i've seen in beta which is only for testing not to make assumpions on full game from) its looking like Dust is going to provide a much overdue Isk sink for EVE.
EG mega corp in eve wants to keep/take control of said space to do so they need to fund a Dust corp to fight any planetary take over/defence of said space. Therefore defending eve corp offers hundreds of millions of ISK (drop in the ocean for eve, keeps Dust players supplied for weeks) for the best Dust corp they can find to win the batlle. Attacking corp offers a similar level of reward for a Dust corp to sucessfully attack said system. Both attacking and defending Dust corp make many isk's to keep them fighting but to get the best rewards they need to be good at fighting. Random players that are not interested in the MMO part random queue for battles and make enough to restock for each engagement or not depending on skill level.
Win for all Meta gamers get what they like, casual gamers get what they like and cheating gamers (IMO) can spend hard earned RLM to keep up with those that like natural improvement.
Everyone wins and everyone is happy.
Just like eve no matter what your favourite playstyle is there is a place for you.
As the most rewarding contracts will be set up by RL eve corps not CCP, the economy will be closely linked to the eve economy ( remember CCP employ a highly qualified Economist a first for any game). Judgement based on the economy based on information gathered in beta testing is not the best way to do things. It may work it may not but bear in mind eve was released in May 2003 and still has a viberant player driven economy that works, unlike every other MMO you might care to name. Dont worry about ISK if your good you'll find contracts to cover the costs. If your bad any level of Aurum purcases will only hurt YOUR wallet. |
