I think CCP should remove the laser 'vomit discharge' effect on weapons and actually use plain old hit markers (like in Killzone games for e.g.).
I actually think hit detection is a lot better and I've been playing a sniper for the last two weekends. You really notice bad hit detection as a sniper. Anyway, Im not sure what you mean but the statement above could you clarify what you mean by "vomit discharge effect" in less "artistic" language . when you shoot, there is this yellow discharge that comes out of your weapons, I think its supposed to be bullet shells spraying out or laser heat discharges but it looks like some laser vomit projectile matter, hehehehe From what I know about eve lore I think its supposed to be plasma. Its not that bad? Would it be better if it was a different colour, or would you rather it not be there at all? Personally, I don't mind it, it gives battlefield a nice sic-fi battle feeling. I guess it a matter of taste. Yes, its plasma, since the only assault rifles and full-auto turrets we have right now are Gallente blaster tech, which uses bolts of superheated gas (plasma). You'll most likely see standard muzzle flashes for Minmatar weapons, possibly no muzzle flash for Caldari gauss weapons, and some kind of flaring effect for Amarr laser weapons. |

I guess it a matter of taste. When you fire repeatedly it makes it harder to aim and is distracting. I'm also betting that, following the way these things work in EVE, blasters will be the highest damage-dealers in Dust. In that case, the plasma discharge around the muzzle would be a side effect of that power advantage. |
