Final Fantasy XIII is an odd case. The actual game is rendered in native 720p, while the CGI and pre-recorded cutscenes are ran at 1080p. Since some assets render at 1080p, they just stamp that on the box. WipEout HD is also a bit odd, too. It's native resolution is 1080p, but it uses a dynamic framebuffer. For example, in elimination mode where things can get real hectic, the frame buffer displays half the resolution, then returns to it's original 1920x1080 display once the frame rate reaches a stable count. It's hardly noticeable, but it just shows that few games can maintain a constant native 1080p resolution.

Which will it be??? The screenshots on the dust 514 website look fecking AMAZING!!! I so hope these are ideas of what the final release may hold for us graphic wise, or will it be similar to the beta we have experienced so far, MAG like graphics??? Thanks for any info

Thanks for any info It'll run at 720p native. A game of this magnitude, with alot of variables, will have to take substantial shortcuts in graphics to accomplish what the devs want the game to be like. On the next gen console though... maybe

I don't think you know your tech terms. yeah w/e i was a bit stoned i think everyone knew what i meant, thanks for the responses also the new patch makes it look a lot better imo, seemed to have improved in certain areas also
