Skill booster, Unique armor/ weapons that are a one time buy, and the ability to change my skill loadouts, in MAG it was a respec....I think people want to try out new things and respecing is a way of doing that for a marginal cost. The key to a microtransaction game is to have very small convenient things to purchase. The trick is, the player can easily spend more money on the game without realising it....or caring. A small 5$ investment is nothing, but once they do that 4 or 5 times they feel invested in the game and if it is FUN enough they will want to keep playing because they have willingly put money into it.
LOL works so well because it has so many unique heros to choose from and people find their favorites and have a meta game stratagy built up. The only thing in a FPS that is dynamic and changes are the skills that are invested into, allow those to be more flexible with AUR and I think that will be an interesting cash cow for quite some time. |

The whole point of the respec would be so someone could change their char instantly. People would be paying REAL money to do so and it isn't a game breaking mechanic at all, it is really, I am bored with being assault and I don't want to wait another year before I can skill up sniper...The point is to allow variety...microtransactions thrive on it and succeed on it....if several thousand people respeced a couple of times...maybe each repec would be 2.50$ that is an easy way for CCP to make cash, a way that no one would say "hey they are paying to win" |

The whole idea is for those who are new to the game.....You can say tough luck guy you chose the wrong skill or read something incorrect live with the mistake....which may make some players NOT play, Respecing is a way to keep things fun for the person without breaking the bank or the game.
In a game with consistently changing patches I think a respec system is needed all the more, if the patch totally kills your playstyle and you realize you will have to suffer through 2 months of grinding to skill into something else? How many players do you think we will lose? The point is to maintain a playerbase and there are people who will go Assault and never want to change, but options are essential to microtransaction game.
There could easily be limits to it too, timebased or perhaps WAR points will need to be "spent". Cannot respec until you have 2000 warpoints. Limitations would be needed, but it also could be an in game item that could be sold for isk |

Maybe I am just really cheap, but if I saw that my 4,000 AUR could get me a lot more than it actually does, I would keep spending it rather than hording it and only spending it on 7 day boosters.
1,000,000 people spending $1 per week on AUR = $4,333,333.33 per month 20,000 people spending $20 per month on AUR = $400,000
Better to have lots of people spending very little than a few dedicated hardcore people spending lots. That is very true, and that is point of having a FREE game, I was just trying to let CCP know what I, personally as a consumer, would spend actual money on. This free game needs a whole lotta people to be profitable, and it can be very profitable if CCP allows the money to slowly trickle in and take their time instead of trying to grab and go. |

i know a lot of people who want cosmetics, and are willing to pay for it, I think that is also another way to make money and retain a playerbase, as long as custom colors don't affect latency/lag....I don't know enough about what makes what or what affects what. |
