Since this patch is going to merge us with EVE on the SISI server, and since that server is normally up 23/7 for EVE players, does it also follow that DUST will stay up 23/7 also?
CCP normally makes their EVE patches during down time on Tuesdays. The 21st is a Tuesday, so, is there a possibility that I will be able to download the new build then and play to my heart's content, 23/7, till the next build, baring an emergency shutdown and daily down time? |

sounds like this could be the case, but I'm sure they have independent controls of Dust interfacing with SISI so they may still keep the same schedule and just open it up for internal testing during the week like they have before. |

Dont hold your breath. even on sisi the developers are notoroius for locking eve testers out while the devs damage control the newest goofball of a patch on test servers. |

It may be that there is no relationship between the historical pattern of the EVE development system availability (sisi) and DUST 514 availability.
In a recent dev post in the EVE forums it looks like there will be two "sisis". If I got it right, the hardware that sisi normally runs on, singularity, was turned over to the DUST 514 team for DUST / EVE integration testing. It got it's own copy of the current EVE development build. The development build that is accessed by the EVE folks got put on (temporarily?) a set of hardware called Duality.
Dev post on Singularity hardware.
So, the DUST 514 developers can setup access however they want. It won't impact and doesn't have to coordinate with EVE. |

Dead link. If that's true, that really sucks. |

Normal Eve Sisi testers got booted off to 3rd rate hardware on duality while we took over the second rate hardware of the real singularity.
What is this going to cost eve players you ask?
Probably no more fleet lag stress testing for a while. Thus no lag combat either. Which means likely winter expansion wont have optimization based on battelfield results as much for current features. |

They said we're on SiSi if that wouldn't be the case they would had said so.
Anyway just because SiSi is on 23,5/7 doesn't mean that dust server will be, there just won't be any interaction when dust has a DT. |

Duality (the current eve forced to be SISI) is already throwing a hissy fit and is throwing up Time Dialtion every chance it gets even when nobody is around.
Time Dialation is a lag combative feature for fleet fligths to ensure nobody died because of the lag and it will be more of clearly the players fault for dying as everything gets toned down in speed to allow players turns to get thier shots in locks down and screen to load. While may be unaccepable by FPS standards its perfectly okay in a space based stratagey game.
So they're going to turn TiDi off and hopefully find out what in the heck is causing duality to hate TiDi, it may just reveal something broken and fine tunes TiDi on Tranquility. |
