nobody knows yet, Unreal (which is what will be interfacing with the mouse) only has basic, universal mouse driver support. don't expect to run your razer mamba or whatever with anything higher than a standard DPI and 5 mouse buttons.

i'd say wait a few days after patch to really learn what unreal can and cannot interface with.

but i suspect "any old usb mouse" will do fine

And so he returns to the forums BEFORE the precursor patch is released, despite saying otherwise.

All trolling aside, KB/M will be the death of this game, just use the DS3.

lol its almighty! good to see ya!

i wouldnt worry too much about purchasing a crazy mouse/keyboard for Dust until its been tested and you know what to get. For all we know, CCP could screw over KB+M users cause they want it to be comparable to DS3 users and its not worth using a mouse...

basically, just wait a little longer to make your decision.

And that's the age old question. depends what you like.. fast mouse? light? heavy? lots of buttons? few? and the keyboard? you like mechanical? soft touch? laser?

The real question should be what keyboards and mice WORK on a PS3.

This. This is what I'm worried about. Just use the damn controller. I'm not entirely sure why they'd integrate KB/M into a console game...

Kb+m will bring people to the game who would never want to play with a d3 controller. Use whatever you prefer, its coming regardless so ranting about how its going to ruin the game when were in beta and its not even implemented yet is pointless.

if you want something right away, any old USB mouse will probably do. I avoid Microsoft mice though, they have in the past only worked with windows or certain drivers or something. I'm a huge Razer fan now I'm hoping the PS3/Dust supports high resolutions. But a basic corded mouse should be good, as long as you have a smooth surface.

Using a left handed keyboard controller (forget their names off hand) might be interesting too, if they work without special drivers. (programming them on mac/pc, then using on PS3)

I am a long-time Keyboard/Mouse PC gamer and have the PS3 in my living room on a nice HDTV.. so I'm not sure what I'll do. I don't want to put the PS3 in my office, since I have the Move and use it for Netflix, but sitting in my living room with keyboard/mouse feels weird.

I may actually stick to DS3 since I primarily do dropships and AV, and you don't need amazing accuracy with the swarm launcher to be effective. But I'm glad it's there.

PC gamers don't like playing shooters with a controller. If they can support both controllers and KB+M they'll attract more people. Just segregate the games like they're planning on so that KB+M doesn't dominate the **** out of people using controllers and tell people to adapt or die for clan wars.

I have a couple different mice I use for gaming - depends on what I need. Sometimes the extra buttons just get in the way. My favorite for FPS is a simple HP gaming mouse I picked up like a year ago. It has a simple adjustable dpi up top and two extra buttons on the thumb side.

I'll be taking the hit in the next build and use the controller almost exclusively then switch to KB/M in the following just to show the difference twixt the two in statistical form in my own personal performance.

 +1

Just what I was looking for, it'd be a pain for me to try and wield a full keyboard on a couch.

Hopefully somebody has one ready for testing once the update rolls around.

you take two rectangle tables the same height as your chairs arm rests, these tables become your arm rests on each side of you.. you put the speedpad on one side and the mouse on the other then you can recline in a natural positon, that weird shaped curve thing on the speedpad is ergonomically designed so your hand rests naturally on it so your reclining with both arms resting on the tables at arm rest height, one hand on speedpad the other on mouse

I like what you guys did there. Very nice!! I was waiting for the "sarcasm end" command to show up. Had to give a like for those.

Although, I am in favor of options, we will just have to see how things play out once it's implemented. I will be switching back and forth and playing with settings just to see how much of an advantage I can get, if any.

I play stalker and red orchestra with my trackball and those games are crazy lethal I like my TB because with the right sensitivity its great for precision aiming which is good for those bolt action rifles in RO.

And by the way my friend thinks its weird too I guess I'm just used to it.
