sorry bud, i dont have any links to provide for you, but as of right now ive only heard of CCP officially saying they are going for 24v24, but they have also said theyre not settling for mediocre. they will probs expand it with future expansions. |

CCP doesnt want to get into the proverbial bath water to soon, all we have heard is 24 v 24 is for sure anything more is future talk. |

during E3 PS Home Q&A CCP did say they were testing up to 128 players internally and it was goin smoothly i expect around that number prob for the 2013 0.0 update
keep hearing about 32v32 at launch but havent seen any confirmation from any CCP dev tbh all i know for sure is that they confirmed 24v24 |

I would play a "Wait and see" on this one. 128 players sounds awesome, but if the district sizes are too small or not really suited for that number, than we would be better off with more focused 24V24 of 32V32. I think that is something they can look into during the Beta and update with more/less players through patches as time goes on. Once we switch hardware in about two years that will come with it a whole new set of possibilities technologically and will likely bring its own changes. |

The maps we play on are officially stated as small. Although last patch notes mentioned large maps implemented they were buggy and thats why we ended up with plateau. I fimly believe the map size will only be limited by the red zone around the outside. If you go on biomass ambush the play area is much larger than it was when it was craterlake biomass.
Also I think that people are wrong to assume that there will only ever be 3 capture points per map, there could be clumps around objectives on larger maps.
You mention switching hardware in 2 years and from the follow comments you make I assume you dont mean PC. Sony said at E3 that the PS3 had a planned lifespan of 10 years and they were 6 years in. So yeah there will be a PS4 in 4 years and if enough people have 3D capable TVs by then I am sure it will be a full 3D console.

I'm really hoping the limited map sizes and player #'s were due to the test server hardware they have, and that when we go to SISI (the Eve test server/mainframe beast) things will get serious.
24x24 will play much different than 12v12, and 32x32 will be a blast. |

I am pretty sure I heard the great D.E.V.s talking about massive battles (128's) but I can't come up with any specific times where they might have brought it up. But CCP says it plans to expand Dust indefinitely alongside EVE and I see no reason why they wouldn't strive for this eventually, I just wouldn't start to hold my breath for it for another year or two though. But I think they are working towards it, and come on, I mean it's CCP guys. It's CCP. |

I saw then say 128 internal, on of the fanfest videos on youtube I think. I thought it was 128vs128, could have been 128 total. May not be 64vs64, could be 32vs32vs32vs32, so third parties could show up during battle. This happens in EvE, it would be a unique feature for a FPS.
Then we will have platoons and companies to go with the squads, maybe even have battalion commander organizing battles spread over district. |
