Okay, people seem to be making inaccurate assumptions here so here is the rundown on what happened: I was flying down to objective B in my Myron dropship, I got out and started hacking objective B since the two other people on board were spamming the missiles (I have no mic), right before that happened two others jumped on board as they had just gotten out of a heavy fight with about 2% health and needed to heal for a second (I'm assuming) however my whole mission plan was to hack the objective an d nobody else was making a move to it. The area is free of enemies so I get to it, hack B, and on my return I look up in outrage as some loner darts in and starts up my ship. I furiously run at it as I fire two shots into it and get on board as the moron smashes the ship up into the crane, down into a drop-container, sideways into a building and then just as I think he has it under control, right into a tower, blowing us all to hell. In all 4-5 people died because some loner decided to take us for a joy ride and the objective was re-taken before I even re-spawned. |

Why did you get out at all. If your in a dropship fling gunning the enemy don't come done to hack something . Esspecially the driver of the vehicle. Plus u abbondened the 2 gunners and left them to die. |

Yeah, if you exit your vehicle, you can expect someone to pop out of the shadows and run off with it.
I'm kinda ok with that, but I really hope they prevent people from entering the pilot cabin of vehicles they don't have the in-game skill to use.
You rarely have to jump out of a ship in eve, but this is the way it works in space.
I'm cool with a basic LAV skill since it's essentially a car, but tanks and dropships and such require different skills. This is one reason they had Half-tracks back in WW2 era.. it drove like a car, but could carry more and had better capabilities.
The military doesn't just let any grunt drive a tank, but they can drive a Humvee. |

Again, my MO was the objective B, I never wanted ANYONE on my ship to begin with, and like I also said, they weren't interested in doing anything but spamming the missiles. Idk where you have been but if the pilot doesn't get out while the passengers are covering from the missiles NOBODY gets out because they don't want to lose their missiles or some s***. |

Stop right there. you said that there were 5 in your ship not 2 plus the guy who took it minus you thats a full load buddy. if you dont want them there then dont fly drop they were there for a little more than use of the turrets

99% of all new eve players login and start training a battleship with out any idea on how to fit it, fly it, or even pvp at all. don't cry when you lose an expensive ship you wouldn't have lost it if you realty did know what you were doing. just because you can make it go up and down, don't mean a thing and it don't mean your ready for a bigger one. |

Check your math and what I said: 2 people on my ship, plus me that's 3, two freeloaders run up that's 5, I'm out so that is 4, the thief runs in that is 5, I return that is six, we lift off, he smashes around, two or three people managed to bail before the final impact (one or two of the freeloaders bailed onto a roof, that is 4-5 DEATHS, not passengers. I have been an on/off dropship pilot for over a month, I get about 50,000 sp on average per game (that's after several games) with an average of 20 kills to 1 death. MY myron is fitted with a light chassis for speed and two advanced repair units. I have been playing Dust since E3 and am not some noob. Regardless of ALL of this talk: we were not under any threat of enemy fire, nobody was doing what needed to be done as so often happens in this game, that left me as the one person to do it, my point is solely that is was an a-hole move of this loner to wait until the very second I left my ship, jump into the pilots seat, fly off n someone else's vehicle he had no business even being near and killing everyone who didn't immediately jump off for dear life. I do know what I am doing and if it were up to me I wold have ordered my passengers off to defend and hack the objectives, unfortunately that is not possible. |

I think I am, from what you have said so far I am sure you would prefer to use your dropships as mobile gunships and nothing else, I prefer to use them as temporary defenses but mainly to get my team to objectives that need personnel to hack and defend while covering from the sky, if my teammates have no interest in doing ANYTHING about the objective two feet from their face then they are clearly doing nothing to help the team in the long run. They are objectives for a reason, when the game comes out of beta they will need to take objectives to win the battles. |

no, dropships are not gunships. Fighters/VTOLS are. Dropships are for troop transport to objectives or other strategically important points on the field. Hence the name "Dropship."
If you want to use them as temporary taxis and defenses, fine. Enjoy being poor. |

"Temporary defenses" as in transport team to objective, have someone hack, and then cover from the sky until hacking is complete. Basically your last post's definition of dropship usage covered exactly what I said to you. Side note, I have 15,686,808isk atm and lose MAYBE one dropship a game. So, poor? No. And my stragtegies have been complimented many times by my teammates, I realize that I probably haven't explained myself better on here, I was raging when I wrote the msg, but I don't feel like it, I do what I do, people like it, I'm done with this post. |

i recommend really only piloting if your gonna invest the time into it. dont half ass it. if you try to be a jack of all trades at the beginning of launch, you wont do well for yourself.
if you check wikipedia, they have a list of some of the incompatible bluetooth headsets for the PS3. if it works for other games and not Dust, your doing something wrong cause that shouldnt happen.
also, make suer voice chat is on in the options. it is off by default. (did i just hit the nail on the head?) |

Got to give him this he is going to try. I hate noobs that wont even try. the game will not bend to your playing style. you must learn to bend to it. Thats eve. and we love them for it. not calling you a noob but i have been ceo of my corp in eve for more that 5 years. and i have seen all kinds of players. and alot of them cant take advice. i have seen this argument before and mostly the drop pilot ends up thinking screw you all i will play how i like and shaft you all because it makes me sp. |

i recommend really only piloting if your gonna invest the time into it. dont half ass it. if you try to be a jack of all trades at the beginning of launch, you wont do well for yourself.
if you check wikipedia, they have a list of some of the incompatible bluetooth headsets for the PS3. if it works for other games and not Dust, your doing something wrong cause that shouldnt happen.
also, make suer voice chat is on in the options. it is off by default. (did i just hit the nail on the head?)
Thanks, it was actually just the input/output part that I overlooked, some 4 yr old tore apart my good headset a year ago and I haven't dealt with any of that stuff since. |

I don't like to think that I work that way: (..mostly the drop pilot ends up thinking screw you all i will play how i like and shaft you all because it makes me sp), I have proven to be very efficient working both alone and with a team, but with (until now) no working mic and (still) most people not even having mic feed on it can be very hard. It's a 50/50 chance you get stuck on a team that wouldn't know how to make a cohesive battle plan if their life depended on it. I always try to work for the win of the team rather than just sp and kdr (thus the objectives instead of battering-ramming people to death) if I was just interested in those they would be MUCH higher. Like I said before, I do what I do and people like it, I dodge rockets, forge bursts and swarm launchers like it's going out of style and I am open to advice but there haven't been any issues so far. This was one incident where some noob came in, jacked a vehicle he really had no business touching and smashed it with the people left inside, all other times this kind of vehicle jacking happened have been at the drop point before I even get in (major rager but at least no excessive damage). I just had to bring this one up because of the amount of damage one inconsiderate and/or ignorant person did. |
