Now I don't know how many other people this has happened to, but I am sick and tired of these little hobos running around and nabbing teammates dropships. I flew down to hack an objective only to return to my ship to see the pilot seat of my 100,000isk dropship. Not only had he stolen my expensive machine but he HAD NO IDEA WHAT HE WAS DOING and proceeded to bash it into every object around us in an attempt to fly away, thus destroying it. So, here is my point: if you did not buy the vehicle, regardless of what it is, DO NOT TAKE IT unless there is NOBODY around to claim it, that was MY money, MY strategy, and because of one player we lost the objective since he killed all five people on board when it went down, and I was in a scout outfit that was taken to 1% health by the crash and then cut down my a HMG. This is a team game people, if you are a thief like this when the game comes out of beta I can guarantee you that you will be immediately be banned from whatever sorry clan you join.

while i sympathize with you, i come from a position that as a pilot, you're in charge of your vehicle and getting out is taking on that risk...

especially considering the implementation of friendly fire and spies, any number of things can happen and its up to you to watch out for #1.

No one is going to be banned for spying or stealing. Kicked from corp, yes. But not banned because CCP encourages it.

if your the pilot don't leave your ship. Have one of the other 5 people that were in the ship plant. It does suck you lost that ship, but now it should be lesson learned.

There is a difference between not actively discouraging something and actively encouraging something. CCP let you do it, but don't encourage you to be aholes. You do that as a community (EvE that is).

But really Drop pilots dont jump out of your ship you are not a 1 man army.
if someone attacks your ship while hacking you are the best skilled to defend it.
you may have to take off in a hurry or even leave your man behind.
now if that's you out there then you just screwed everyone to play hero.
realty its a drop ship you DROP a guy to hack.
then do a quick pick up if you can.
if i was in that ship i would have taken off too not going let everyone die so a pilot can play hero.
only problem was your guy couldn't fly.
use your men you got 2 guys on guns 4 just sitting there picking there noses.
drop a guy cover him them pick him up.
hell drop 2
and dont pick up players that dont turn there comm on.
