Can we please have a way to make this kind of info private? Some of us don't want all of our characters linked to the same source like that.
With all this talk of spies etc, how can we do it properly in dust if everyone can work out who our mains are? |

while I agree that I'd rather not make my psn id known to everyone, I would imagine that a corp that is worried about a spy would ask for it anyways... Although the work around for a spy would to be just to have multiple psn id's. They could make alot of them and just sign into the psn id that they wanted. I think that I have three of them floating around, although, I only remember the one that I'm currently using.... The spies will find a way. |

I'm not sure this is something CCP can change. Sony seem to have a strict rule about PSN Ids in games. Every game has them and it's probably part of the PS3 licensing. |

I would like them gone as well. We don't use the same communication mechanics as most PS3 games and it should be treated differently. |

There is no way to tell which characters are linked in Eve anymore either (API used to give all characters, but they can be customized now to allow info on only one character). I am for removing this as well, and I am an alliance leader in Eve. Part of the beauty of Eve and New Eden is the possibility for spies and corporate thieves. |

just create a new user at the XMB. This will create another online ID - an alt. You can have lots of PS ids. Just download dust when out for free to all these accounts, as I presume the beat code is linked to the individual online id. Your friends list isnt carried over to any of these id's
Problem solved. In less than 2 mins
I presume the reason to see the online user name is so people can be reported to Sony for abuse to players, breaking TOS etc. All of the online ids will be linked to you PS3 serial number. |

This. Not linking ID is not going to do anything about spies. |

Hell, most EVE corporations require you hand over a limited API key so they can see all your characters in order to prevent spies. Having the PSN ID on the account just cuts out the middleman. |

I would have thought, CCP know which characters are linked to which accounts regardless of what info we are allowed to see.
I don't mind having to create a new psn, like you say, it doesn't take long - it just seems silly though, I already have one. Spying aside, I just think it looks crappy, having it on the character sheet.
Edit: I see what you are saying about being able to report players to sony, I suppose it may have to be a necessary evil then. Not sure exactly which TOS apply which CCP can not handle themselves though!

since its sooo easy to delete a character
The PSN name is needed to file a report
get over it...all other PS3 games with online features allow you to search for a name
dust should be no different |

Make a new PSN account to spy. If its worth spying its worth making a new account. |

Get over yourself, it's not as if I was crying about it.
I had already accepted the facts in the post above yours.
Also in EvE you have to wait 24 hours before you can delete a character, if someone is bad enough to be reported, make sure you do it within 24 hours.

@Renzo
The whole way you wrote your post came across as conceited - fobbing off my request as if it was some kind of QQ thread and telling me to get over it, when you didn't even bother to read the post above yours where I admitted myself, that it might not work, due to PSN restrictions.
I just felt unnecessary cold vibes from your response.
