Hey guys, I just wanted to know if I anyone else thought that the knives felt very underpowered even with the knife skill up a few levels. |

You are doing it wrong. Stack 3*max lvl melee mods. Huge damage. The problem might be the range or detection IMHO. |

The only problems I've noticed with knives is that it takes a bit too long to get your weapon back up after hitting someone with a knife, and that you can't interrupt the reload animation on a weapon with a knife strike. The former leaves you completely defenseless if your stab doesn't outright kill your target (and since you can't know your opponent's HP shield or armor HP, it makes using the Nova Knife a bit too much of a gamble), and the latter leaves you completely defenseless while reloading (whereas most FPSs still allow melee attacks while reloading).
I dunno, maybe both of those "problems" are in place for balance issues. I admittedly only use my knife as a last resort weapon, so perhaps I'm missing something. |

TBF, a knife should be a last ditch option unless you're trying to be all sneaky like. If i sneak up on someone hacking, i don't bother, couple of shots to the head is usually quicker and less risky. Especially when you don't know who's got his back, last thing you want to be doing is standing there. Haven't leveled it yet though, but from the sounds of it it's wasted SP. |

They should remove knives and use R3 for something else that will actually be used in gameplay by people other than Weirdo McMelee Suit up there. |

Yeah that's super annoying too, but the worst is when your weapon is being laughed off by someone wearing a logi suit and then you go in for a knife and you get destroyed after an obviously hitting him :( |

15-5 the only time I tried it knife only. Not that big of a waste. Proto assault comes with good shields and armour anyway. No stims, just armour plates and repairers. People just don't think you'll stab them. It's 1hit kill on most, except heavies/Proto assault. Guns are better though, no doubt, it's just fun (top tip, bail from LAV's to stab people.) |

I don't know enough about using knifes. But there needs to be feedback. I can never tell if I'm hitting someone. Maybe they also need a damage arc... But a knife should be a last resort weapon... Not necessarily a goto weapon if you sneak up on someone (Unless your fit is built for it). |

Knives are being addressed in upcoming Precursor update to an extent. Interrupting reload is one of the things they're doing, and thank Jebus for that. |
