So I posted this thread --> https://forums.dust514.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=30016&find=unread -->on the general discussion to see what people thought of the idea, unfortunately no one actually gave me any useful feedback whatsoever so I'm going to post here anyway. If you're still reading and haven't clicked the link then I will give a brief summary of the thread.
Assault=best balanced class, and highest shields Scout=fastest class(it even dodges bullets!) Heavy=best defensive class Logistics=$#*&%$%^^%????!?!?!? best amount of equipment slots? dafuq?
The trade off is pretty sh*tty if you ask me, so I propose a specialty bonus to Logistics users that would support their capacity to help themselves AND their team-mates without giving them any combative or unfair edge. First, more XP for helping team-mates, see the thread linked above for details Second, increased effectiveness for non-lethal equipment used by Logistics, see thread above for details. |

For example, the Standard Nanohive, which has a range of 4.0m and resupplies ammo at a rate of 10.0% and has 200.0 health would remain the same for scout/assault suits but would instead have a range of 4.4m, resupply ammo at a rate of 11.0%, and have 220.0 health if used by a Logistics drop-suit (if it were buffed by 10%). This would ONLY work will non-lethal equipment which includes the Repair Tool, Nanohive, Nanite Injectors, Drop Uplinks, and Active Scanners. This makes sense to me because the logistics suit / specialization could be expected to make them more effective.
I don't agree that the war points for the activities should be different between the suits. A revive or a resupply is the same no matter who does it. I do believe, however, that all the support functions should have more WPs than they do now. If you combine more points with more effective performance that should be enough to support a logistics specialization.
I understand CCP have added a hacking speed bonus to the logistics suits. That opens up a "group secures the area and their logistic guy hacks the target" role for the suit.
As far as skills go -- a set of logistics skills that buff equipment use as well as enable additional levels of equipment could make the speciality even more effective. It would be justified by the idea that the more the logistics specialist learned about the equipment the more effectively they could use it. |
