in EVE a bloodline is an ethnicity from different worlds, since all races are human. like the Intaki are a bloodline of the Gallente, humans from the world on Intaki, known for their introspective and thoughtful natures.
Much like the ethnicity of someone being Asian or Black, or whatever, in the real world, and so on.
hope this helps. |

It's purely aesthetic and it also makes no sense.
It's like starting a clan called "Caucasian" or "Asian" or "Pacific Islander".
Also, there are no clans, only corps.
A bloodline is just an ethnicity and/or subculture within a given faction. |

Bloodlines are cosmetic things in eve. They have no effect on stats, though I kind of remember something way back in the day that suggests they did have a purpose, as all characters have he same stats. In dust everyone is hidden behinde a mask so it's more a show of your allegiance. |

Eve charactor creation changed, you use to pick race, gender, bloodline, education, and family background. Each choice affected char stats, start location, what starter corp, and starting skills. It use to take few hours of reading to decide how to set up char(or no reading and later realize char in handicapped, then read and start over). CCP removed the differences to make it simpler and less confusing for new players. Now it is just background and affects appearance, but are suits hide that.
The intaki are not part of the gallente race, they are members of the gallente run federation. Mordu's Legion is a intaki group tied to the Caldari, the gallente's enemy. The Caldari use to be part of the gallete too.
Caldari bloodlines are all caldari gallette are not, why there is a gallente option under it amarr are not, true amarr and khanid are amarr race, other is a subject race of the empire all minmatar bloodlines are all minmatar tribes, more tribes are listed in background but not playable.
The family name has no effect, I left it blank. Putting a clan/corp name in it could make it tricky to change corps later though. Won't matter in beta, rename when game is released? There should eventually be a bio area that can be changed clans could go in, if not using in game corp system for some reason. I have no idea why anyone would do that though. |

The bloodlines did have an effect a few years ago, but as with anything in EVE, it's not insurmountable. IIRC it governed the initial distribution of stats like Intelligence, Memory, Perception, Willpower and Charisma. |

It's aesthetics, but don't do anything in DUST right now because you can't actually mould your character's look, or even look at their real face/body.
Probably will later for PS4. |

Outside visiual apperances Bloodline doesnt effect anything.
I managed to make this characters name on one line.
Eventually when corps start getting allowed in you can get short corp tags assigned to your group. UNFOURTUNATELY they're likely going to be tags you wont like because all the best ones are already taken. |

In the earlier days of Eve, the bloodline you selected impacted your starting skills. Basically you got a predefined set of skills to choose from based on the bloodline.
Today, there is no real added mechanic from bloodline. Instead of a predefined set of skills, you accelerated skill learning speed for the first 1 million skill points to get you to the same point quicker, but more customized. |
