Nano's Guide to Proper Militia Vehicle Fits Now I don't know everything about Caldari HAV's and dropships, but I am talking out of my experience. I do not go into LAV usage due to them having only one or two purposes. I will discuss fits, tactical maneuvers, and the roles employed by the militia vehicles. These vehicles are the Soma, the Gorgon, the Sica, and the Viper.
Vehicles Soma Mainly fit for those who want to soak up damage for a short amount of time. This leads to the Madrugar, and then to the Surya.
Sica A nice overall anti-infantry vehicle good for long-range engagements with installations and infantry. This leads to the Gunnlogi, and then to the Sagaris.
Gorgon A great ship for being used as a gunboat. Able to take a beating before having to pull out. This leads to the Grimsnes, and then to the Prometheus.
Viper A fast ship able to insert troops and get out of an area quite fast. This leads to the Myron, and then to the Eryx.
In the current build, they changed the CPU/PG of some things. You might need to edit these fits according to your skills and to personal taste.
Fits Soma
- A nice buffer and active fit.
HS: Militia Damage Control, Militia Shield Amplifier LS: 2 Militia Energized Plates, Militia 120mm Plate, Militia Armor Rep. WS: Militia MT-1, Militia 20GJ Blaster, Militia 80GJ GA Railgun
- A resistance fit.
HS: Militia Damage Control, Militia Shield Regen LS: 3 Militia Energized Plates, Militia Armor Rep. WS: Militia MT-1, Militia 20GJ Blaster, Militia 80GJ GA Railgun
- Mostly active fit for small arms fire.
HS: Militia Damage Control, Militia Shield Regen LS: 2 Militia Energized Plates, 2 Militia Armor Reps WS: Militia MT-1, Militia 20GJ Blaster, Militia 80GJ GA Railgun
Sica
- A generalized fit that I use to pick off infantry.
HS: 2 Militia Shield Amplifiers, Militia Shield Booster LS: 2 Militia PD Systems. WS: 2 Militia MT-1, Militia 80GJ Railgun
Gorgon
- This is the best fit for gun boating IMO.
HS: Militia Damage Control LS: 2 Militia Energized Plates, Militia Armor Rep. WS: 2 Militia MT-1
Viper
- Best for taking small arms fire.
HS: Militia Shield Amplifier, Militia Shield Extender, Militia Shield Booster LS: Militia Energized Plate, Militia CPU Enhancer WS: 2 Militia MT-1
- A generalized fit for taking a little bit more damage than the former.
HS: 2 Militia Shield Amplifiers, Militia Shield Booster LS: Militia PD System, Militia CPU Enhancer WS: 2 Militia MT-1
Tactics
Soma and Sica
- Always leave an escape route open.
- Running low on armor or your armor reps are getting close to finishing? Start making your way out even if there isn't an imminent threat.
- Don't leave your rear vulnerable. A good example of what not to do is to set your HAV on the down sloping entrance facing north at A next to the spawn.
- Be mobile, not an installation.
- No allied infantry in the area? Remove your tank from the area.
- If you see an enemy marauder, get out immediately. There is no way you will be able to damage him enough to do good.
- If you start taking a considerate amount of damage, leave.
- Do not rush or charge, stay on the outskirts and behind your teams front lines.
- Stay out of the heat of battle, fire in from a distanced location.
Gorgon and Viper
- You should high. Flying high means out of the draw distance of your enemy so they cant get a clean lock on or shot. The only time you should descend is when dropping people off to hack.
- If there is a forge, get out of the area.
- If you see swarms after you, floor it around the towers and run till the explode.
- Dropship crushing is not a valid option. It makes you a target because of being nearly on the ground.
- You need gunners.
Helpful Information Comment below with something valid and reasonable and I will put it in here along with your name.

Just Bad wrote:Bump & For what it's worth I've found I've had more luck using Blasters over Railguns in a Soma for anti-infantry work due to the smaller splash radius and damage of the Gallente Railguns (they've GA in the name on the market) compared to those of Caldari design, at least when looking at militia fit tanks.
Well, I agree blasters are great at anti-infantry, but blasters usually are used at closer ranges than the railguns. Since the Soma has a pretty weak tank, I find myself engaging things that aren't so close together and where I know I'll win, which is usually on the outskirts of the map. I don't go into objectives or down the main road where all of the fighting is happening. But hey, I'll look into a blaster fit and update it SOONGäó. :] |

The free ones will be out, but they are leaving them on the market to buy. |

xprotoman23 wrote: They seriously need to put some kind of lock on the driver seat of tanks and other vehicles since they cost money now. I had got out of my tank to call in an OB and dude hops in my tank drives it across the map and gets it destroyed. I raged so hard at him.
Ahh man, you're telling me. A guy was standing right under where I called my tank in, and I was telling him to move. As the tank is dropped I guess he pressed circle at the right moment, and got in the driver seat and started to drive off... |

They can't spawn there. |

Really? Because I do amazing with these fits. It takes a lot more than that to kill those bud. |

Logi Bro wrote:Do all of these builds still work? I ask because the CPU/PG of most vehicles were changed up a bit after the Precursor release. I do not know about the Sica, or dropships, but I am assuming they are within the CPU/PG range of what they were before. The soma fits I only had to edit a little, like a different turret or what not. |

Noc Tempre wrote:Most of OP's fits are ... as good as the CCP starter fits. Sure they work, but there is good room for improvement. All modules contain the prefix Militia, but I'm not going to type something that redundant. I don't want to do this all in one post, so here are some better HAV fits to get the ball rolling.
The ones I posted are completely militia fits. I do much better in these than I do in the starter fits. These are for some of the newer people. You may not function well in these fits, but it does not mean others can't prevail nicely in these over others. I would agree with you if the title of this guide had been "The Best Militia Fits".

I posted 100% militia fits too. I just didn't type it out 50 times. Using more than 1 10% resist on a militia tank is a waste of a slot. Given that, I tried to provide fits I would recommend. The sica is still fail by comparison.
Recommend all you want. I still believe in resistance fits so in my mind, they do have a purpose if it provides 18% less damage instead of 10%.
