Dualshock 3 players should get the advantage of custom controller layouts if KB/M is being introduced. tapping R2 doesn't always switch the weapon correctly and the Melee button is useless to me so I'd like to remove it and use R3 for something else. |

Whether or not keyboard and mouse is supported, things like customisable controls should be a given. |

KB/M is a bad idea in the first place but giving us some form of advantage would be a plus. |

No argument here. Even in the absence of keyboard and mouse support, from the very instant that game consoles became capable of storing information (so, basically -- the first example I can think of -- the original Legend of Zelda on the NES) there's been no excuse NOT to allow 100% custom remapping. It's the same argument against those not supporting keyboard and mouse: PS2 started the era of the USB-equipped console (even the original X-Box used USB, it just had a proprietary connector on it, the protocol and pin count were USB), and with it, any excuse to refuse support disappeared. The PS2 started that era with UT99 (the original Unreal Tournament) which was a launch title for the system and support both keyboard, mouse, and 100% remappable controls.
There's no legitimate reason or excuse NOT to enable 100% customization of control mapping AS WELL AS keyboard and mouse support, on ALL games. The only reason not to is flat-out laziness. |

All refusing support for good controls does is limit the number of people using them, it doesn't actually keep out the hardcore users that are already using them anyway. |

You guys should already know that CCP already confirmed that they plan on having customisable controls. You aren't the first to suggest either.
And for R2 not always working is because of server lag. If you join a battle that has around 2 or 3 people in your region and try tapping R2 to switch quickly through your gear, it works perfectly.
*Disclaimer* I am not implying that everything works as intended! |
