I think it would be a nice interaction with EVE that the live overview maps be dependent on someone in EVE be in orbit around the planet with the right module fitted. And obviously, different modules would be possible and give you more or less on the map (more zoom, enemy signatures, locking capability, topographic info, 3D view, infrared view, ...). When there is no support you could still see a map, and symbols where your allies are (that is TACNET), but no live image from orbit.
For the quick matches it would be assumed that basic support is always there, but for real contracts, it would be dependent on the actual orbiting support. |

What about when your Warbarge is in orbit? That would be optimized for supporting ground troops wouldn't it?
I agree that orbital support is good, but perhaps in a different dimension than this... |

It is still very fuzy what the War Barges will be, let alone be fitted. But yes, that kind of support would fit well for the War Barge. |
