I have found a minor bug with the level of damage that the ships take. I have noticed that you can completely destroy ships shield armour without completely destroying the ship ( take the armour to 0 but not beyond !) and the ships isn't completely destroyed, it will still fly.
With Zero Shields and Zero armour I managed to land my Myron and use my repair tool and bring the ship back to 100% but the only problem was, it wouldn't take off again. Hence the bug.
I never though to call another ship whilst that ship was still in the game but, next time if there is a next time i will try it and see if the game will or not allow such a thing.

That happens to practically every pilot. Are you sure you were able to land it? Could it be that it just fell in a controlled manner?
Most pilots come across this issue when they get hit to 0% armour while the armour rep is going. It will then repair you back up to about 20-30% before hitting the ground. But the dropship is disabled once it gets to 0% even if repaired. This is consistent with what you said.
I think the best solution for this would be to allow the dropship to explode in the air or disable any repairs once it hits 0%. |

I dont use armour reps, just shield extenders, and I flew back 3/4 of the map so not controlled decent, the ships was still flyable. Only not after I landed it.
I dont think that allowing the destruction of my ships is a good choice, if it was salvageable then I should have been able to use that ship. But I lost near 120K ISK on what looked like a perfectly good ship.

As I see it, HAVs and LAVs blow up when they hit 0. Why should a dropship be different? |

I was suggesting a change in game mechanics to make it more in-line with itself. Dropships should behave like other vehicles.
As for your bug, it seems like a more severe version of what others have come across. Again, not canceling out your experience but rather pointing out that you're not alone. |

I agree. I kill a tank, I often get 3 kills, I kill a dropship, I usually see it raining clones, and get perhaps 1 kill. |

I think all vehicles should work the way Dropships currently do. If they drop below Armor and begin taking Structure damage they are disabled. No movement and maybe no guns. Once their structure hits zero then they should explode and anyone inside, or immediately around, the exploding vehicle should die a horrible flaming death.
This would line up with reality. There are many stories of Blackhawks being shot down with the occupants still surviving. Same with modern Tanks and Hummers. So if someone hits a Dropship or HAV with a Militia Swarm and knocks it down to 50% structure then it should be disabled and players have a chance to bail. But if that same Dropship or HAV gets hit with a Proto Forge Gun that instantly knocks it down to 0% structure then it should explode, killing everyone, and the Forge Gunner reaps +50 for all the charred corpses inside.
Thoughts? |

Thoughts? If we had 3 levels of structure like EVE ships, that could work (shield, armour, hull). For the moment we only have 2 so your idea isn't quite grounded in my mind. |

That is why a Dropship, upon hitting zero armor, will fall from the sky and no longer be drive-able. It hasn't blown up yet and its turrets still work, but because it has taken Hull damage it can't move. Only when people continue firing at it when its on the ground does it finally explode, and that's because it's Hull (which we don't see on the UI) hit zero.
It's the same with Dropsuits; when your armor hits zero you become incapacitated and are prompted to suicide - but you're not dead yet. That's because your suit has taken Hull damage and has become unusable. If people continue firing at you when you're on the group you will eventually die when your suit's Hull hits zero. |

Hmmmm HULL tanking,
medium hull repairer x 1 and a good hour of spare time.
us eve pilots are used to our ships still flying when on fire. it would be nice if a Hull HP bar was added. found plenty of dropship on the ground smoking away, you shoot , you score ?, you score ?, ffs die stupid dropship die.
then some dude is like wtf stop shooting mah dropship and kills you. if i knew the depth of hull damage i could decide waste 120 rounds or gtfo. |
