The sway makes the gun only effective in the medium range. At the close and longer ranges the AR is better because you can hip fire and the sway of the gun is nothing.
With the technology in the drop suits, the implants, the shields, the railguns, etc... you'd think that one of the engineers would have figured out how to rig a gyroscopic disc into a rifle to prevent sway???

I've cleared enemy camps with nothing but a sniper rifle. Try learning how to use the equipment before compaining that it doesn't work. |

The exception doesn't invalidate the statement |

A sniper rifle is by by definition a long range weapon. Why do you think real snipers don't run head first into fire-fights? Because a precision rifle isn't the best weapon for close quarters combat. And as for the game's sniper rifle, I (and others) can pick off targets that are so far away they don't show on the screen; we just aim where the red indicators point. The gun works, you're just a bad shot.

The sway of a weapon (especially sniper rifles) is an important part of any game worth playing. Plus all you have to do is crouch and (after a few seconds for the scope to set) the sway stops. If you look away from the scope or move too much it will need to reset. Don't expect people to change things around just because you want easy kills without actually aquiring skill. |

All you really need to do is crouch whenever you use the weapon. |
