Can we please get some sort of indication on the ground, like a cross hair or just a glowing dot,to let us know exactly where vehicles are being dropped in,to prevent them from landing on our heads, especially in the spawn?
Also, there needs to be a way for people that are calling in vehicles to place them exactly where they want them on the battlefield. This system could also prevent people from spawning tanks on top of towers by locking out certain areas.

On the 1st part I agree, but on the 2nd part... No.
I want total freedom in games. If I am fighting in nullsec, I want to be able to place a cloaked tank on a tower and shoot a flight of enemy dropships out of the sky by surprise... |

Well, we have the spotlight effect below the dropping vehicle now, although it's not always easy to see that area, especially if you're in it... I think the big problem is the bozos who insist on calling in vehicles the instant they spawn without moving first - no chance of *those* landing on a team-mate, obviously . It gets annoying when the vehicle-spam kiddies kill you the instant you spawn in three times in a row, before you even have a chance to move.

I partially agree with this - I think it could open interesting possibilities if the commander were able to do this, but wouldn't want to see if for the general soldiery. And it's obviously open to abuse by letting you effectively place spawn points at will on the map, at range. But +1 about locking out certain areas - tanks on towers for instance, and perhaps making spawn zones out of bounds for vehicle drops? Doesn't seem like rocket science...
My understanding is that the current vehicle-fest is a test situation, so we'll eventually have to pay for vehicles and so the endless swarms of militia vehicles being kamikazed around the map by the kiddies will slow to a trickle at worst, so maybe the "spawn spam on the head" problem will (at least partially) go away by itself?
Oh, and when the prices go up, vehicle-jacking will become a major grief issue, so *please* CCP make vehicles only accessible by the person who is paying them for a few seconds after they drop in (or until the buyer boards, whichever comes first). |
