Seriously, we are trying to BETA test this game. While you may think you are "so awesome" that you can sit and spawn camp the ONLY spawn point with a TANK _AND_ a DROPSHIP and rack up some impressive massive score, you have absolutely no business doing that here. Not while some of us are trying to actually help CCP make a better game.
CCP, I hope you guys are monitoring that kind of crap and booting these fools. |

Soooo.... you wan't CCP to boot like 90% of it's testers? This has been going on since i started in the previous build, and probably well before that. If CCP cared they'd have stated that they wanted people to stop doing it. They said they're working on a fix for the spawn system to prevent camping, until then you're just gonna have to be mad. |

Spawn camping doesn't count if you spawn at an objective but at the main spawn it does

I think it will be best if nobody leaves spawn arena for 1 minute, the battle ends in defeat. No point in letting spawn-campers get free SP and ISK. The result will be a defeat anyway. |

I don't see a difference tbqh. Also if you wanna start banning beta testers for abusing one broken game mechanic then you've gotta ban them for abusing all broken game mechanics. My point is CCP isn't going to ban anyone for playing the game the way it's currently designed.

If you spawn at an objective thats being taken, it's your falt for spawning at a place enemies roam around but being spawn camped at a base is different because you usually have no choice

Its going to get quite interesting once cloaking devices are implemented, in which case our "camp-breaker" drop-uplink scout suits are going to become a lot more effective. |

Do some research. It's getting fixed.
For the time being if you dont like being spawn camped dont spawn at places that are in the process of being taken if you hate it that much...

I'm glad that folks are weighing in here. Let me make a few clarifications:
- My post is regarding spawn camping THE ONLY AVAILABLE GAME SPAWN POINT
- I understand it is broken - but in this case, the couple guys doing this were just sitting there. Hey, a couple times, I don't care - this was just blatant abuse.
- When I say boot - I don't mean ban - I mean boot them from this match because they do not deserve their SP/ISK for purposeful abuse.
Let me paint the picture: Plateaus Skirmish. The defenders were clearly winning. We (attackers) were forced off to the top of the map to the ONLY REMAINING spawn point and no one could live long enough to even spawn a drop uplink. One guy in a tank right on a hill gun point to the spawn; the other guy on top of the overhang in a drop ship - guns trained on the spawn point - both firing non-stop. I understand, we got owned. We lost horribly - it happens. But to just sit there and defeat the entire purpose of playing, testing etc. just shows poor character. It's an a-hole move and I just hate that people are that jerky. It's a game - fine, whatever - just wish people would allow others to play respectfully. |

We're playing a beta designed for balance and game mechanics examinations.
We're here to abuse any advantage we can find as much as possible.
We're here to try overcoming the abusing behaviour in any way possible.
If you were to kick anyone who abuses something you'd never know what's broken. We're here to break the game in as many ways as possible.
The only acceptable rant I can take from this thread is that the current build is too old and we generally spend too much time playing with old builds before seeing any improvements. But even that is something I'd have a hard time accepting as we're purposely playing them for an extended duration so CCP can see how these broken mechanics mature from militia to proto gear. They also need to know how the spread looks once people learn to work with them or overcome them.
So there will be no kicking. There will be testing.
Just think of it as GLADoS running you through an infinate number of tests for reasons you will never understand. But there is logic and meaning to everything. |

Wow that sounds like one really bad match you were in. I've been in plenty of matches where the defenders got pushed back and locked down but have never seen that happen to the attackers. It's just so much harder to spawn camp the last attacker point. There are so many options the attackers have. They could even run in pretty much any direction. |

About the comment on drop links, you could drop plenty down and still not have your team spawn on them. Last night I had one placed near C so if we got trapped we could get out easier. We got trapped and it got spawned on a total of 4 times in around 5 minutes. If cloaking gets introduced it could possibly ruin the game if it's not done right. Also come reset time it should be easier, people won't have all the fully kitted out stuff so newer people will be on a bit more of a even playing field. |

Absolutely agree that we are here to find ways to break it. Your points are well taken. That being said, I simply wanted to point out that no one could even run in any direction because they were cross firing perfectly on the spawn non-stop! I just thought it was poor sportsmanship. I'm not complaining about the already known broken game element - I'm saying GM's should be watching for this kind of abuse and not letting people be rewarded for it.
Eh. I'm just glad there are some smart comments on this thread - my point was made. Thanks folks who contributed something meaningful to this thread (even if it was counter to my initial point).  |

they are testing the game
they are showing CCP how terrible their spawning system is
so in other words while u are suffering being spawn raped and come back to QQ here it provides wonderful feedback so CCP would know their spawn system sucks
now imagine if they did the gentleman thing and DIDNT spawn camp u and CCP thinks the spawns are A-OK and releases DUST with the spawns they are now......just imagine how quick the game will die......better to get spawn raped now and have a chance of fixing it than gettin spawn raped in retail and ppl quit the game......after all this IS a beta |
