i played eve but did not make it to the point of titan ships or anything like that. but do you get penalized for playing to much. I would like to know why the idea was even thought of cause i think if you play a match you should receive the sp for it not oh we dont want the guy that can only play for an hour to feel left out cause i can tell you that he is not going to be the one shelling out money so he can play for an hour or 2. CCP there are hard core gamers that love a game to be hard. Demon souls and Dark souls shows that so please dont dumb down your game. |

This game has varying offline skill accrual mechanics as well, but the descending return multiplier on skillpoints is necessary and should remain in place. If you think people are whining about balance now, imagine if you could get the same amount of SP with each match playing 16 or more a day? |

There is a fine line that sperates a good challenge with fustrating.
Currently beta is Fustrating, this barrier needs to go. As for the challenges of dust 514 I say its well done so far its clear its precise its to the point and that if you are stupid the system still punishes you no matter how good the tutoiral is. |

The only reason I can think of for it to be there is that they're testing how we progress with the varying systems. For instance, in Replication, we constantly gained SP online and offline at a rate of around 1 SP every 2-3 seconds, whereas in this build the passive gain is there, but only active when you aren't playing. I wouldn't be surprised if the wipes are also associated with this, indicating that the next wipe may be a precursor to another new skilling mechanic. |

I can understand their reasoning of having diminishing returns on SP. They don't want some guy that plays 16 hours a day to get 30 M SP in a week. I wouldn't mind at all if they made it like EVE where you just get passive SP. Just don't make it 1800 SP/H like a non-mapped EVE character so it wouldn't take forever to get the good stuff. |

Also, they could just transfer the xmls over to Singularity like with any standard mirror of Tranquility, so I'm thinking the testing of another skill gain system is more likely. |

They confirmed this in the IRC chat log. It was posted by Zion something... |

I hate making 30k sp on 20+ kills. But it is a necessary thing. If I got 200k+ sp a game I could get 5mil a day. It is best to have your best possible games right after the reset time. That seems to maximize it for me. So I model sure I play some warm up games first. Then when it resets, I'm ready to kill. And until we get loot and can use the isk on other things, it will be about sp and kills. |

Right now they have a x4 multiplier on SP. When the game goes live it goes away(unless you have a booster and that will get you some.) and I am sure that the grinding penalty will go away as well. It's all about balance. The more you play the less of a multiplier you get....seems fair to me... |
