i know you dont like us talking about other games but if anyone played syndicate the online skill building system is that i think you should use. before you go into battle you choose the 2 skill you want to level then you finda a battle and you can just keep playing without stopping and spending the points you just earned. they are just auto placed to you skill

I'd rather they used the EVE system, where you queue up the one you want to train, though saving up and applying as we do now in DUST is not that bad, just a little annoying at times. The EVE system will force people to plan on the next skill, and which builds they want in the future, as having no skill queue = wasted skill points, but I guess having active skill training, where you can earn more SP in a single round than EVE players makes in a week, makes it very hard to implement a queue system.

But one thing I would love to see is a way of flagging the next skill you want, and be notified when the we have earned the required SP for it.

oh no i agree with the mechanics i just mean the selecting of a skill to train in kinda like how eve is and so your not worried until you see the skill has been gained.

i wouldnt mind the passive skill point gain being able to be assigned to certain skills and affect them specificly, and being able to sink in some SP into a skill without totally getting it

personally i prefer the skill system the way it is now. without a skill queue you dont have to worry about it running dry and missing skill points because you didn't put a new skill in the queue. we still have a small passive sp gain when not playing and when we do play we get points based on our performances in battle. and you get a pool of sp to play with how you like.

A hybrid eve/dust system would probably be ideal, earning a little skill over time at a reduced rate from eve proper with a bankable/spendable skill bonus applied to battle points/cooperative play and team objective accomplishments as in dust now. This would help casual players as well as provide an sp growth bonus for the more hard core players.

I had heard we are gaining 4x skill points now, and that on release about 1/2 the skill points will be passive. Not sure if this means 1/8 current points from battle and 1/8 average current sp/day as passive for 1/4sp, or 1/4 current from battle plus passive make about 1/2.

The passive skills will help casual players, give ccp two types of skill boosters to help fund game, and be something to keep new players in game. They say they couldn't do anything because there skill suck so they will play game X, respond with don't unistall and come back next month with some more skills, repeat till they feel they have role.

letting us set a queue to train like in EvE would be nice, maybe instead of one day one million skill points?(last skill in queue can go over a million)
